Raptor of the mists doesn't actually have i-frames like a dodge roll. Instead it just negates the damage of the attack that triggers it. This makes it useful for avoiding things that ignore i-frames (like chariots or falling saw traps) but it also means it doesn't negate secondary effects like destined death.
It triggers with in actuall Hit. So Grabs and Statuses come through, but the Vault after activation HAS a Sht Ton of I-Frames. Just the activation is like a Smash Bros Counter. But it looks cooler! It is not actually better then a role, but has other advantages and disadvantages to make it stand out. Thats why Vow of the Indomitable is so overshadowed by it. Both Grand more I frames then a Dodge, but Vow litterally makes you Immovable, while Raptors can be used Offensively, because of the Jump afterwards. Vow should heal a little Bit every Time an attack Passes though it, so you get double Defense. Know its as good as a role, less Timing Dependent, but stationary. A similar run with Vow of the Indomitable would be cool also i guess.
I love Raptors. It makes a great "oh shit" button, it gives you a way to avoid attacks you might otherwise have trouble dodging normally, and if you lean into jump attack boosting it can do very good damage. This is the ash i always fall back on if i dont know what to put on a weapon
Didn't consider 2 Great Omenkiller Cleavers instead of Zweihander & Troll Golden Sword? Give them an Occult Affinity and they would wreck easier than famous sword (tried them on STR/ARC build and they melted both final boss and Malenia without much of an issue). They also weight less. More complicated idea for a challenge run - Elden Ring as Special Operation Agent: -Fight mainly on range (Bolt of Gransax's skill and Spectral Lance), on close encounter only basic uninfused dagger is allowed -Only Cloth-like armor is allowed -Try to fight Stealthly as much as possible -Consumables are somewhat allowed, but should be limited
im glad to see wolf is doing well in the lands between

@@anigodzapex9384 he already done a run with vow, it's on his channel
@@evertonflores8670 I realized it afterwards! But thx!

Finally the return of the king.
Thank you!
putting this on giant crusher while wearing bullgoats would be hilarious
Its Sekiroing time, the run
I had the skeleton do a triple drop one time while farming: Two bandit's curved swords and a human bone shard.
Would you consider doing the run with mohg spear and go nihil around land between? its gonna be hilarious run
Next time: Replacing my role with Endure
Was wondering what to put on my 2nd curved sword. This looks very effective.
Great video, would love to see a Replacing My Dodge with Endure video, pretty much the tank version for raptor.
Does anyone else notice the background music is from risk of rain 2?
Good run but you really should have left Rykard for later when your gear is fully upgraded and just melt him.
We are the death bird
Got that risk of rain music.
since ds1, two-handing your weapon doesn't affect crit damage
Can u beat the game only with the uchigatana?
new video pog
great video! iirc two handing before going for a critical hit doesnt do extra damage
It does if the weapon has any strength scaling
@@lancehalo7256 It doesn't since Souls3.
Thanks for the info! Didn't know they removed the extra damage.
@@Worn-outGamer4 Not removed. It just automatically calculates your total AR, including 2h.
Am I dumb or did ya not kill the Ancestor spirit? Looked like an all remembrance run. Could've missed something tbh but was just thinking
Nah I didn't fight the Ancestor Spirit, didn't feel like fighting him or Astel I believe during the run
@@Worn-outGamer4 understandable, both are annoying to get to for underwhelming fights
Nice
Is it me or does the elden beast seem like a easy boss?
I hope you’re okay
All good!
discombobulate
So basically this is the Mist raven prosthetic tool but on a budget

I gotta say that Malenia was impressive but that beast clergyman? Holy moly that was cleeeean😳
i really like that nickname you gave Gideon LOL
if i ever get more space on my PC, i'll change his boss bar name to that in my game
What's next? beating Elden ring by facing backwards? only backsteps, and roped pots or ash of wars which can hit behind?
Replacing Rolls with backsteps would actually be kinda Interesting.
In my more than 20 runs i got this invasion at Hogwarts just 1 time. Strange.
morgotts and mohg shackle make the hero's grave easy it completes the puzzle for you
Bro's not the thinker😭😭😭
Hello everyone! Sorry for the week delay. Again I'm continuing the theme of the previous video of replacing my roll dodge with
Lol, what are the chances i just finished a ror2 run before i watched this.
its a good day when worn-outgamer4 makes a vid
3:28 once in a lullaby?
Bird up!
