  • "That's that with that."
Two rookie FBI agents (Leslie Bibb and Jeffrey D. Sams) are assigned to the bureau's Richmond, Virginia branch, where their story parallels that of a local mob boss, Jonah Malloy (David Paymer). When a fellow agent is murdered in a shootout with the gangsters, the head of the FBI branch (Leslie Hope) declares an all-out war on the criminal underworld. The following episodes weaved intricately between Bibb and Sams' federal agency and Paymer's gang, though the two storylines rarely met head-on, except when occasionally focusing on an undercover agent (Anson Mount).

Malloy's wife, Janet, played her role entirely differently at the beginning of the series. In episode 2, she read him the riot act and came across as someone intelligent and who stood her ground. Since then, though, she's played a bimbo and a pushover. I liked her better, and it made for more interesting dynamics, when it appeared she was the one person who could control him.

This is just a very probable transformation that shows the reality of the human psyche: how easy is to turn someone trying to influence others into someone being heavily influenced...this is all about weakness and strength. On the other hand, being intelligent would go much further than being involved at all... so what are we speaking about...

This series is actually pretty good, even though it depends a little bit on the episode.
