    There's a spot under the hood for the Highbridge to jump-start and hook a battery pack so you don't have to climb through the trunk or buy a tool to reach it it's right in the front by the PCM there's a red plastic rubber boot over the terminal for the positive and then hook the negative 2 anywhere metal on the car

      Or you could slow charge it... I really don't wanna write a book about it but you'd basically save yourself from buying anymore batteries. Involves a jump starter and distilled water.

    I came down to the garage this afternoon & found it dead. ☹️

    Also--use a Motorcraft 12v battery as a replacement. Because it's in the trunk, close to the passenger compartment, the battery has a vent with a hose that fits in a hole on the side of the battery. It vents gases to the outside that may come from the battery. Other battery brands probably don't have the vent.

    Thank you, that was helpful! Our 12v has died twice. Luckily it's still under the 3 year warranty.

    I just happened to have a snow brush that i keep on the hybrid battery shelf. I was able to, with much difficulty, to push the trunk release with the ice scraper portion of the brush. After that day i attached a rope to the trunk release pull so, if the battery dies again i wont struggle for a half an hour like i did before.

    My Fusion Hybrid (2019) has charging terminals for the small 12v battery that lives in that rear panel located under the front hood. Look for the + pole on the driver side. There is a plain bolt behind it to connect the negative ground on.

    FYI.... i heard disableing Ford Pass solves the battery drain problem, not sure if this works or not

    You don't need to do all that. Just pop the back of the door handle off. It's the little plastic piece behind the actual handle. It is just a clip on plastic part that hides the manual key lock. Just press the button on your key fob for the key to release. Driver side door btw to be clear. Depending on the year there could be a little rectangle where you push your keyfob key into it to release it

      I like my car and have only had one problem with the main control for the radio that failed. I had extended warranty with $100 deductible, so it wasn't bad. Just replaced the factory 12v battery after seven years. I'd say that's pretty good.

    • @racequad9
      @racequad9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just a dead battery. Literally every car will need their battery replaced at one point or another. Or are you talking about another issue with this make and model?

    • @Badkitty24
      @Badkitty24 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@racequad9 it's another issue. I've had many dead batteries in ICE vehicles, but this is behaving differently. Sudden discharging to 6v. I've been driving mine fine with a new battery for 2 years. a few months ago, randomly, i'll come out of a store after 10mins and it's DEAD. 5v DEAD (i keep voltmeter in trunk). I hook up my usb charger and it's 14.2v right away and runs for weeks after. Those charger are for JUMPING a battery, they cannot charge 5v to 14v in seconds like that. There has to be another issue.

    This car has a problem with draining the 12 v battery often. Something in the electronics or modules on occasion will drain it even if it's not been sitting long.
    Mine did it twice within 3 weeks then fine for years.

    • @Badkitty24
      @Badkitty24 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      mine started doing it a few months ago. Always when my GF drove it lol, so i thought she was doing "something". Well last weekend i was the last to drive saturday night, i got up sunday morning and its dead. ICE vehicles i had many dead batteries but they're never 100% dead to where even a simple LED somewhere in the car would come on dimly. With this car, NOTHING is on. Not even the LED voltage meter on my phone charger. But these usb battery packs give it that much juice in a few seconds, without the ICE turning on and running the alternator. So it's not a normal battery draining problem. The batter can't go from 5volt (tested) to 14volt in a manner of seconds.

      @@Jinxx2 I found it documented in the owner’s manual in the fuse box in the driver’s compartment. It’s just to the left of the brake pedal up a bit. It’s hard to get at and may need to remove the lower panel to the left of the steering wheel. Fuse numbers 32/33 in my 2017. They are labeled Global positioning system. Display. Voice control. Radio frequency receiver. / Radio. Active noise control
