what's sad is people are judged when they learn 2-3 languages yet the world does not revolve around English ... we need more Latino youth advancing and learning anything we can to grow the culture
I haven't seen anyone judge the way she speaks English. But the ones that are need to realize that not everybody in the world is a native English speaker.

I dislike how sometimes Americans judge non-Americans on their English when a lot of actual Americans don’t even speak it properly, I love her Spanglish. I’ve been bilingual for my whole life and there’s always gonna be days when you might forget a word even if you’re constantly speaking either language. I commend her for not letting the interview freak her out and that she felt comfortable enough to educate people especially the uncultured swines who loved her song but didn’t even know what tusa meant😂😂❤️
I even asked my Colombian friend what tusa meant but she said she had no idea😂

Yeah, I was pretty impressed she could get the English right because I didn't know she spoke English.
There's nothing more pathetic than going to a far-right rally in the U.S. with people blaming all the problems in the country on minorities, but the signs have a shitload of spelling errors. I guess they'll never figure out the reason why they feel like they are being kept down.

I’m Colombian and most of some of these are used in cities that are not of the Caribbean decent so like cali, bogota and Medellin!!!

A colombian here, My lovely Karol G forgot to mention that in Colombia the slang changes ever 20 kilometers :)) There are words that Karol G uses that I never heard in my life like TUSA which has a diferent use depend on the region. In fact if you order a coffee in Manizales the way you order in Bogota, they'll brind you eggs. It's that different!
Very true, I have a hard time navigating in Bogota because it’s a different dialect than the rural areas where my family lives.

@@Falanu Well, it is and at the same time it isn't, since 1000 pesos convert to like 25 cents (even less in pence). So you'll encounter the word luca a lot more in quotidian situations (i'm assuming you're not stupidly rich) than you do rack or stack. Also you can say "las lucas" or "la luca" to refer to money in general (it would be, in both cases, equivalent to saying "the money"). Oh, and it can be used to say that an unspecified amount of money is big. Like, "se le perdieron LAS lucas" translates as "he lost a lot of money" (the all caps refer to oral emphasis, wich gives you along with the context the information you need to infer that they are speaking about a lot of money).

Her English is pretty good. You can understand what she's saying, she gets confused sometimes but that's normal, specially if it's an interview and you're asked to explain words.

"Paisa" is how we name the persons of Medellín, Antioquia. Both cities of Colombia (for foreigners).
She sounds with that accent in English hehe. At the end is more noticable.
So ? ... all people have accents and it is not bad, so brave going around trying to explain slang words which it is really hard.
