In less than 8 minutes you effectively answered all the questions I had about getting my art onto some mockups that had pesky built in shadows. Everyone else is preaching the multiply layer, but that doesn't work when you have detailed artwork that's going on top of a dark surface that has shadows. Thank you so much for this video. You've revolutionized my ability to make product mockups that look realistic for my art while demonstrating their functionality. Thank you!! Subbing!
That’s awesome! I’m so glad to hear I could help! If you’re interested you could join my free Affinity Photo Creatives Skool community. There’s lots to learn there too: www.skool.com/affinityphotocreatives
You are seriously the besssstttt!!! Everything is easy to follow even for Affinity Photo iPad! There's like a hugeee difference before and after I followed this tutorial. Thank you so much. I'm subscribed
Amazing Affinity tutorial Rensi! I only bought Affinity Photo (iPad version) last week. I'm glad TH-cam's algorithm suggested your video to me. I'm now subscribed! I'm sure I'll be having a binge on your channel over the weekend, and weeks to come. Thank you :)
Thanks a ton for your kind words, Boost Car Care! Did you manage to recreate the effect on iPad? I recently bought an iPad as well, however haven't really played with Affinity iPad yet. Hope you enjoy my current tutorials. New ones coming soon - so stay tuned, buddy! 🤙🏽🔥
This worked! A blessing. Was beyond my intelligence to have done this on my own. All glory to God for creating a great mind to have figured this out. Thank you!
Just started using Affinity Designer and my first time coming across this channel. Wow, this was sooo helpful! Amazing job making this very useful technique so easy to understand. Instant sub.
It’s fun that you mention Designer, I bought the software but so far have never actually used it yet. So I didn’t even know my tutorials help with that. But I’m glad they do haha. Awesome Kyle ! Welcome to the channel ! 🔥
I’m glad you found the video helpful, Reid! I think Blend Ranges are the most underutilized though powerful tool in Affinity, so definitely worth playing around with. Thanks for tuning in, buddy! See you in the next one 🤙🏼
You’re very welcome ! I’m glad I can help the Affinity Community this way ! If you have any questions regarding photo manipulation or AP, let me know :)
that looks DAMN GOOD! and funny cause I want to do an image of a fit body with tatoos and was trying to figure out how to do it.. and HERE YOU ARE! lol looking forward to the next mind blowing art tweaking work
It is very intuitive indeed, however it takes a bit to fully understand how it works. The Ps Blend If was easier to use IMO, but I’m very happy with the Blend Ranges in Affinity!
Im not convinced this is the best way to do displacement maps in affinity. When I follow your fabric instructions (using a dark red image on a white tshirt mockup) at the end the color is totaly bleeched
Such a helpful video. Thanks. One question though. How would you turn something like this into a template that can be reused with different images? Like for a t-shirt mockup.
Awesome, glad you enjoyed Steph! And thanks for checking out my main channel :) That's rather complicated, but I'll consider turning it into a tutorial/workshop! :) Enjoy the van life 🤙
@@IAMRENSI thanks for you reply and considering the idea. It is complicated 😂 that's why I'm looking for a tutorial. Vanlife is cool. Thanks a mil and keep well.
Hey Sam! I haven't tried it myself yet (only recently bought an iPad). But as far as I know everything on desktop should be possible on Affinity iPad as well! 😉🤙🏽

Thanks so much ! Glad you learned something new, buddy
Absolutely brilliant! Thank you! I'm going to have to come up with an excuse just so that I can do something similar for myself!
Haha no excuse needed, it’s always good to practice in case you encounter a similar situation in the future! 🙌
Great tutorial and very helpful. Hadn’t thought of using the liquify tool…had been experimenting with warp tool.
Awesome man! Thank you for producing and sharing Rensi!!
You're very welcome ! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial 👊🏼
Thank you!!!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I knew there was a way to make my t-shirt mockups not suck :)

Super-helpful! I never knew about the Blend Ranges (via the little Cog Tool). Very cool.

Fantastic 💯
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed 🤙🏼
In DJ speak, Renzi went deep into the crates like it was nothing with the Liquify Freeze and Thaw Tools.
that looks DAMN GOOD! and funny cause I want to do an image of a fit body with tatoos and was trying to figure out how to do it.. and HERE YOU ARE! lol looking forward to the next mind blowing art tweaking work
Haha, such a coincidence. I’m glad I could help, buddy ! I appreciate you for tuning in and then I’ll see you in my next video 🔥
@@IAMRENSI yes you will ;) since I hit that bell lol
maybe do something like apply ink on a person?
Awesome!
Thanks Matthew! 🤙
muito bom bem explicado, valeu
You’re welcome, Gregorio! 🙌
@@IAMRENSI thanks!
The GUI for blend mode looks more intuitive visually then the blend if in photoshop.
It is very intuitive indeed, however it takes a bit to fully understand how it works. The Ps Blend If was easier to use IMO, but I’m very happy with the Blend Ranges in Affinity!

Certified✔️ Dope! 💯🔥! ➕1️⃣👍
is this the same concept for adding designs to garments with wrinkles?
The process should be pretty similar. You could finetune it further with some Liquify! Hope this helps :)
Such a helpful video. Thanks. One question though. How would you turn something like this into a template that can be reused with different images? Like for a t-shirt mockup.

is there anyway of doing this on the ipad version?
Hey Sam! I haven't tried it myself yet (only recently bought an iPad). But as far as I know everything on desktop should be possible on Affinity iPad as well! 😉🤙🏽
include the photos you use like Revolution does, would make it easier to follow along...love the work however
which version of affinity is this... Because i cant see the New Live Filter Layer?
9:19 i bet displacement filter would work
i cant find the distort .. where can i find it ?
It’s a Live Filter! :)
Welcom
Wow. Thank you so much.
You're welcome, buddy! 👊🏼
