Hey Wes.. Thanks for your comment.. If you could stay awake thru it all, You're a real Trooper ! ! LOL... Thanks for all your ham radio adventure videos as well.. Love the Costco beer Advent shorts, LOL.. Keep up the great work.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
Perfect timing for this video. My 40m horizontal loop came down during a recent storm. The weak point was where the wire ends met the ladder line which were mounted to a piece of plastic from a cutting board, but I have plenty of those insulators, and this looks so much better. Thanks Kevin.
That's awesome Jason.. Glad to hear this video helped spawn an idea for you.. I hope it all works out and you get your loop back in the air soon.. Thanks for sharing and stopping by... 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
Thanks for teaching me how to put the antenna together and putting the two wires together also. I definitely appreciate it and I enjoyed the video as aways keep up the great job .👍 73 AE4OY WILLIAM PEACOCK EM-81UF Blackshear, Georgia 😂
Hey 45auto.. I'm sure mine aren't as pretty as yours are, but I'm just a Rookie, LOL.. I hope it helps give others a visual of how this method can be done.. Thanks for watching and commenting.. I appreciate it.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
Hey Bob.. Thanks for your comment.. I saw you were on 40m SSB yesterday but I had a soft copy on you and conditions were not good enough to make it work.. Thanks Kevin, being an electrician I’ve used that second splice quite a bit over the years. I usually use it with THHN wire and heat shrink. Works great
Hi David.. Thanks for your comment.. I've been doing it wrong all my life, LOL.. I just made a loop and wrapped it back on itself.. WRONG !... LOL... (I'm always the last to know these things).. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.. I appreciate it.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
Hey Ben.. That makes two of us.. I'll have to refer back to it next time and refresh my old man memory, LOL... Thanks for stopping by.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
I like your butt-splicing technique. I have been looking for a channel that i could learn, not just the practical but the technical aide of HAM. Thank you! KD2MOT 73
Great job! I did buy one of those fancy ladder line insulator things this summer when I picked up some ladder line. Now I know how to do it cheaply, LOL. I need to get around to making that doublet to try soon.
Thanks Mike.. I almost bought one of those fancy ladder line connectors, but an "anonymous" channel viewer sent me a bag of (10) insulators and 150ft of antenna wire to build a "real" wire antenna, LOL... So I'm enjoying them very much.. I've never used "real" insulators before and they are nice to use.. Thanks for all you do for the ham community and your videos.. Keep up the great work.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
Great Video Kevin, you could tow your tractor with that.. lol Hope to catch you QRP to QRP some time, Santa came early I got an X-6100. Managed to work Greg KJ6ER with 5ws for the QTH.. 73 Steve VE1SK

Your how to videos are the easiest to follow and watch on the internet Kevin. A huge asset to the Ham community! Thanks ❤
