There are many recordings of Big Mac in his glorious prime. If he was captured later in his career and it wasn’t as pleasant it’s the fault of technology as it arrived too late to capture his greatness. You should also recognize that a singer’s prime doesn’t last forever and it’s too bad DECCA, RCA and EMI/Angel didn’t use he, Ettore Bastianini or Giuseppe Taddei better. Mario Sereni was cast in recordings where his voice was too light to make an impression. BIG MAC ALL THE WAY!!
Big MAC was the greatest, biggest voice. I heard him live!! Bravo!
In his prime he was one of the very best in history! Awesome display of vocal gifts!

I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!!!!!!
Mac sure sounded good back then! What a throat! Too bad he's mostly remembered now how he sounded after the voice left him.

great balance here. shame that he messed up with his cover later on.
I actually enjoy his open sound. It’s very exciting. Like Di Stefano.
I prefer it without him covering if I’m honest
