Just to let you know since i have been watching your videos i have covered several sketch books, started knitting a blanket and crocheting a jacket. I still have time to paint. Never been busier. Many thanks Anne. It is spring here lovely weather
Interesting video, whilst it appears that Golden has more pigment in it, for me, it doesn't justify the huge mark-up that Golden charges for their paint. I'm a fan of Amsterdam for my gel printing and all my art journalling, its affordable and feels lovely to work with. But then I'm only making art for me, not to sell or for any reason. I'm also not looking for perfection either, I'm doing it for the process itself, so even the cheapest paint's are perfectly fine. This gives me the freedom to play without breaking the bank. I wish more artists would emphasise this point as most of us are amateurs with very little money. Being told to buy the best is not always helpful when getting started.
Thank you, yes, you are absolutely right. You don’t need to ‘buy the best’ at all, when the whole point is about learning and the process. It’s why I encourage experimenting with poster paint, children’s crayons and wallpaper 😊 I like Amsterdam paints too, and especially Anilinky, as they are excellent value. 😊🥰
I have Golden paints, and I also have inexpensive craft paints. I interchange them, mostly based on color. I make small ACEOs and sell them online. People buy them for their look, and they aren't bothered by the brand(s) of paint. Of course, I don't charge a fortune for them either. It's for fun and love.

Love little journals and the way you brought in poetry!!!
Even on those days I can't be creative, just watching someone make art seems to make me feel calm, relaxed and happy. ❤😊❤
Oh I’m so pleased that you’re happy, and I’m sure you will be creative again very soon xx

Wow! That’s so good, and I am delighted that you are watching. What an inspiring comment 🥰🎉
Really love this series of your mini journals.
Thank you, Susan, I’ve really enjoyed creating them.. 😊
Oh so beautiful lovely journal 🎨✨😍😍
Thanks so much 😊
What a great, beautiful DIY gift idea .
?Did you use watercolor paper?
Hello, I used cartridge paper for these two (250gsm), but I have used watercolour paper in other art journals. :)
Cartridge paper isn't a word we use in the US. Is it like mix media paper, card stock, printer paper or something else?
I think you call it drawing paper. It's a heavier paper (200gsm) and so doesn't buckle when wet. You could also use cardstock, best wishes, Cate

Cate I can only find your book on kindle, is there a hard copy I can buy?x
Hello Sasha, which book are you referring to? Some are paperback and some are Ebooks 😊
@ the one that you mentioned writing in the video. I like a hard copy book rather than kindle version.x
