Aleena is right, not revealing a baby's name is a common superstition. It stems from the belief that names hold a lot of power and revealing it makes the baby more vulnerable to harm, bad juju etc. Without a name, people can't "anchor" their ill-intentions to your child, that's all. It's also a "don't count your chickens before they hatch" kinda thing.
It’s also a cultural thing as well, I grew up always being told that you shouldn’t even show a baby’s face on social media for the first 3 months of their life because you never know, someone could give the baby mal de ojo.
