The trade for Barret was brilliant. Raptors won that trade.

It was a good trade for both teams. OG is DPOY candidate who shoots 40 percent from 3. Also keep in mind we got Precious Achiwa as a throw in and he’s now a key bench piece for us. So yer RJ has been good for you but OG and Precious are key players on a team with championship aspirations.

Barret numbers are around his career averages since being drafted by the Knicks. Nothing to see here. He is scoring more because he is shooting more but his FG and three pt % are the same as with the Knicks..good pro but no all star yet....

    Where is he averaging 28ppg?
    23ppg on 44%-34%-68%
He didnt get “starter minutes” going to Toronto. He was both a starter AND got the exact same 34mpg.
He gained 4pts, 3ast, and an extra turnover per game.
If he’s playing better, his advances stats better, and he’s happier- that’s awesome! And I’m happy for him.
But this video aint it, dawg.

They had a coach not interested in development. A fan bases that never wanted him and booed him for one bad game. Now hes home in canada. With a coach and organization commited to development and not asking 18 yos rookies to play like 28 yo stars. Zion still sucks and ppl still pick him. Atleast morant has a case of being better but neither zion or ja can stay health more than a month. Im taking barrett all day. Im happy my team got him.

It didn’t look like it during the trade but Masai pulled another one on Dolan making it look like RJ was a thrown in piece but in fact OG (who wasn’t happy with his role at the time with the Raptors) became 2 major building blocks for the Raptors in RJ and Quick.. thanks Knicks for the BBQ SHOW in Toronto.

RJ is a really good player...there was never any doubt of that.
He did not fit what the Knicks wanted to progress into.
That said, this level of vindication that some people need to hype themselves up, is corny.
IF YOU SAY THE RAPTORS WON THAT TRADE, YOU DONT KNOW WTF YOURE TALKING ABOUT,😂😂😂
The Knicks are going to be playing for a title yhe next few years whether its ECF or Finals and the Raptors will not.
The problem with RJ is RJ...its his mental...good luck.
But the sentiment of this video has a revisionist history tint.
He had every chance to grow in NY, it just wasnt in him in the timeline it was expected

Its funny thinking back to how many ppl said RJ was a throw away piece and the raptors only took on his contract so we could get IQ.
I wonder how many seasons this will take to hear all of the "fire ujiri" comments again. They're pretty quiet this season on him

  • @jovictor9064
    @jovictor9064 หลายเดือนก่อน

As a knicks fan, none of us are surprised by his +4 additional ppg since he's joined the Raptors.
His woes will be seen soon once teams start planning to stop him. He has like 2 or 3 things he does really well - leak out ahead on fast breaks for easy points , bullying smaller defenders out the way(pushoffs) driving to the basket, finding cutters to the basket...
He will have a week or two of consistent 3s or finding his mid range and it will completely disappear after. ... no consistency..
After, we added Brunson, someone who has many facets and levels to his game - it was an eyesore almost because you can tell the difference in levels of play.
You have one guy whos doing literally everything. Rebound, pass. Make shots whenever/ wherever/ however he wants and big shots too and you have RJ with a work horse style of beating defenders on breaks and drives for easy buckets.
Not saying he was bad at all, it just started to feel like a unicorn standing next to a one trick pony.
