    Hi, thanks for the review! I want to buy my first camera, and after weeks of researching i've managed to narrow my options down to either Canon SX60 or Nikon coolpix B700. the b700 is lighter and has time lapse mode wich is a plus for me, but is seems to get a lot of negative reviews. Which one would you reccomend?
    Also, when buying a camera should I pay attention to whether it's a new model or not? Because I see that the sx60 has already been a few years on the market.
    Thanks in advance!

      I have one! It depends what for you want it! if you like long distance shootings then this is the one . It takes very good video and quite good pictures but it's not the best for pictures or video if you only work in close distance! I am very happy with it and it goes with me in my long distance trips!

    Does this camera have slow motion video at all? Also, I just got one of these brand new in the box for $300 flat. Was this a good deal? I sure hope this camera is as good as I hope to be, because I picked it over a gopro hero 3+

    Debating between the Powershot SX60 and the Rebel T5i. I know they are very different cameras. I am a beginner but I would like to advance in taking different photos. I work from home as a fitness coach / marketer and I do a lot of video trainings on TH-cam and self photos. I also will use the camera for personal use. I like the SX60 because of the zoom and easy transfer of pictures to smartphone via wifi for social media posts but I like the creativity the T5i give you also. A friend said the SX60 may not function well in low light compared to the T5i. Just wondering if you can highly recommend one over the other? I really like the wifi feature of the Powershot. It is hard to pass up. My max budget would be about $700. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      In image quality department, T5i is way above SX60, especially in low light. Iwould always choose IQ over huge zoom.

    • @JoePetriCoach

      Yeah, I know. I just really like the WiFi feature and the convenience of getting photos right to my phone because I do a lot of Social Media posts.

      You will be better with any entry level DSLR or mirrorless. Buy the camera with large sensor and avoid these ultra zooms with 40-50-60x optical zoom.

    would you recommend this camera for someone who travels a lot. We want a adjustable screen, zoom and good picture quality. I have our eyes set on this one but if there is any suggestions on any others then please let me know. Also looking at £300 price range

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +danica craddock It should be OK, but also take a look at Panasonic FZ200 and Olympus Stylus 1. camerahoarders.com/olympus-stylus-1-review/ These two have smaller zoom range (still enough for most users) but have constant F/2.8 lenses and way more advanced options. Olympus is also smaller than both what is great when travelling.

    I used SX50HS and P510,

    Thnx for your reply.....but what about canon sx 50,nikon p 600,sony h400/b,panasonic fz70....
    I know all these have smaller sensor(1/2.3 inch). But I need a bigger zoom....a 30x zoom will be ok for me....but cannot find out the same with a evf and wifi...i will be glad to hear any suggesion from you....

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Finding a camera with all the things you listed (30x + zoom, wifi, evf) and having good image quality and reasonable overall performance at your current budget is pretty much impossible. Good luck. Canon SX520 is maybe your best choice if it has to be ultra zoom, it has everything except EVF. See more here: Canon Powershot SX400IS vs Canon Powershot SX520HS review

      Amitava Bhaumik Sorry, it doens't have wifi, I've just checked it once again. SX60 is the one with wifi. As I said, you'll have to give up on some features. Try not to give up on image quality, SX520 is one of the better cameras in that area.

    Im debating between this and the T5i. I take action videos in low light, so it needs to have fast autofocus and decent low light performance, so which one would you recommend?

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Somedude44 Neither. SX60 has crap low light performance compared to T5i, T5i has too slow AF in video. Without seeing a sample video of what you usually record it's hard to say what camera might satisfy your needs.

    • @somedude4490
      @somedude4490 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't really need zoom, so what about the sony rx100?

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Video is quite good on all RX100 generations, but I really don't know how AF will respond to fast action in low light; i don't usually test cameras for such applications.

    hii.. do u think it's worth an upgrade for me from HS40 to HS60 !?
    i'm seeing better zooming capability of course but one area that HS40 was better than HS50 was its low light shooting that turned out slightly better and brighter as well.. i'm wondering from Digic5 to Digic6 upgrade, Wi-Fi/NFC, and the zoom, what's gonna be a huge difference between the two anyways!?

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard for me to say, havent used SX40...keep in mind SX60 now has RAW file format and if you know how to use it you might get far better shots even in low light.

      Camerahoarders thanks you so much for replying back, yes I just came across fz1000 looks like a good deal to me, and about rx10||| it's a bit of a stretch , too expensive for my pocket, so I think I will go with fz1000 :)

    • @mayurchotwani1
      @mayurchotwani1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although, I read somewhere fz1000 production has been discontinued, should that stop me from buying this ? And fz300 is dust proof and splash proof and cheaper , does that make it a better proposition ? I am so confused now after reading about fz300 , I don't know which one to choose b/w these two..

    • @Camerahoarders
      @Camerahoarders  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only reason why FZ1000 is discontinued is because they made FZ2500 with more optical zoom (other features are very similar); FZ1000 is still relevant. FZ300 is a good camera but bigger sensor in FZ1000 will produce higher image quality.

      ganistio No, not even close. Almost no latitude for recovering blown highlights, shadows are somewhat usable though. There's a LOT of noise on all ISO settings... There is still no ultra zoom I would really recommend (except RX100 and FZ1000 which are actually not ultra zooms by modern terms).

    • @ganistio

      Camerahoarders i am actually thinking of either getting Nikon p900 or canon sx60hs or maybe Nikon D3300. which one do you think i should get? the great thing about p900 and sx60hs is the zoom feature which i dont know if im going to use either than to shoot a picture of the moon or to get an 'entry-level' DSLR which i assume of a better image quality.
      However, if i were to get either p900 or sx60hs, the sx60hs offer a RAW image format (i think i might need that 'feature' in the future but not anytime soon) and Nikon p900 seem to give better image quality, better optical zoom (83x??!!) than the canon sx60hs, but no RAW format. so please help me decide! you seem to be an expert in choosing camera.
      i am interested in maybe nature photography, or to use the camera for family vacation and maybe gatherings and events. i love looking at the sky (and hence why i think i should get an ultra zoom camera just to take a photo of the moon now and then - seen some videos on youtube capturing the mooon using these ultra zoom cameras). i thought i wanted a DSLR (D3300 nikon) but then again its kinda hard to trade off the zoom features
      Thank youu in advancee!

      There is nothing to dicuss here, buy DSLR and never look back. D3300 is great choice.

      Camerahoarders glad you said that. do you think i should get d5500 over d3300? i know d3300 is better, but then again, should i get that instead of the d3300? can you compare the 2 for me please? and what lens suits beginner like me? ( i know nothing about lenses etc)
      Thank you!

      No, go for D3300 and spend saved money on lenses, tripod or flash if you don't have them allready. D5500 is only D3300 on steroids; more this, more that but identical handling and sensor. Buy it with the 18-55 (for all around use) and then get 35mm F/1.8 DX as soon as you can. 35mm lens is great for low light and shallow DOF photos. It is not zoom so it will force you to try harder to get good framing and composition.

      Si un collega ha il modello precedente e fa belle foto. Niente panorama però, infatti chiedevo lumi, magari in canon decidono di svecchiarsi. Il costo come dici tu è esagerato, poi però cala. Non so, per la montagna ho adocchiato una Samsung wb350f, da amazon meno di 140€. Ottima focale lunga per tele zoom, belle funzioni, pesa niente e sta nella pochette dello zaino. Il massimo sarebbe una Sony a5100 con il 18-50 per foto veloci durante il tragitto e la D600 con il super tele nello zaino... Ma troppi money al momento.

      È vero Sony secondo me fa le migliori mirrorless in assoluto. Cmq io vado con la "giberna" a tracolla ben fissata al fianco con la 600d e il 18-200 montato. Poi per le foto veloci non sarebbe male avere anche la Alfa 5100 ma al momento ho una compatta Sony con zoom 10x e panoramica auto, che non è male. In ogni caso spesso faccio più foto con la 600d e poi le unisco a casa con la funzione apposita di Photoshop che va bene. Si ok è più laborioso.
