I'm new here, but I spent 13 years driving truck all over Canada and the USA, until health issues grounded me. Hoping one day to get a PC that could run ATS lol.
Anyways, I'm not sure if anyone's pointed out about the chrome visors. In the real world, they don't all hang down as far as they seem to in the game, but I know some do. You have to drop your air ride seat and ride the floor boards lol. Some guys prefer it. Toss in a suicide stick and some beef jerky and you're ready to roll son.

One other thing.... I get that you'd really like a freightliner classic (they are a beautiful truck), but keep in mind the trucks weight. The heavier the truck, the less payload you're going to be getting. Fuel costs on top of that all adds up. So I'd really think about what kind of goods you want to be able to move. Will weight be an issue? Where will you be licensed to haul. California and BC both have restrictions for how far back your trailer bogeys can be and that can make it difficult to legalize a load. A heavy truck has a harder time doing that.
@@canadiantrucker79 I have my Class 1 in BC, recently trained, I had no idea there were restrictions on tandem sliding. Makes sense with weight restrictions, but that's interesting.
@@690_5 yeah, I always heard it called the BC bridge law, but most places have the same set up as BC. it's 41 feet from kingpin to center of the bogeys and for California it's 40 feet from kingpin to the center of the rear axle. It was annoying to be headed for California. The distance from the center of the axle to the center of the rear axle isn't that much but can displace around 500 - 1000 lbs. Which can be the difference in being legal to being over weight.

I’d like to point out that I actually drove a 95 freightliner classic 10 speed when I was learning to drive a truck. So being able to drive a truck like that is my wet dream ngl
9:18 - If you're talking about the service shop in Limon (which is the town located halfway between Burlington and Denver), that's been in the game since the Colorado DLC was released. You might not recognize it since you probably hadn't explored it yet.
They changed the quick travel spawn point for Denver then.
@@TheFormalPickle I guess. Haven't used quick travel in a year or so, so not much I can say.
I use an iPad. I also fortunately already owned one but I recommend having one. You'd be surprised how many things come up where the iPad I far superior to your phone. There's been times I use it like 1-2 times a week but now that I use for ATS, I use it for the map, dash, or for some entertainment/newsfeed scroll when cruising.
Additionally: my dad is an owner operator and I help him with finding perfect loads. there's an app called DAT load board. It requires a monthly sub of $70-100 but it's just like the load board on ATS. Very easy to search up the perfect load. Another thing, the maintenance of an 18 wheeler is a heavy haul itself. After just one week long trip or however you want to put it, every 2-3k miles. There's going to be a lot of things you want to check on and fix to make sure the truck isn't goin to break down a thousand miles from home and so it has a long life. Which means $$$$. The
pay for loads is very good, just make sure the maintenance of the truck is where the money is focused. Don't wait till something breaks down then spend lots in out of state repairs. No matter what a break down or repair is going to happen so choosing a driver that knows a little about Diesel engines will be a Major plus. and the cost of the repairs can be absurd. so again check everything so nothing really could break down if you can.
We would love to see a go pro angle if you ended up owning a semi! do a truck show and drive around a bit !
I own a international pro star in Australia and it’s a very good truck but the downsides is the maintenance and greasing it every week and wash it every week aswell
Most drivers with those drop visors have Legacy Low Rider seats slammed to the ground so they sit real low. I'm 6'5 and have driven a few trucks with them and hate it. I like a 2" drop and 2" window chops

Man, im a IRL Trucker, a owner operator. It's EXPENSIVE out here. Fuel is killing me. If you get a older truck make sure you have 15k for a overhaul.
In regards to your wanting to be a fleet owner I would say right now the time is not right to buy a truck I've been driving for the past 27 months and right now the rates are in the trash and fuel is extremely high not including the cost of everything else you will need. Personally I would wait until the rates come back up and fuel goes down. I've had a few friends that have bought semis and got into the business and employed someone to drive for them and they went out of business within a year because they jump into the business and don't know anything about driving a truck. But to each their own.

If you are gonna buy a truck no hate but you picked the worst time to buy one it’s so hard to find a load and since diesel is so expensive it’s hard to any money it all goes in the tank

Owning a truck is the worst decision you'll make. Fuel and insurance are killer right now. And if you only have 1 truck, and a driver for it, you'll be lucky to net $150 a day.
