As you know I am the binge watcher of your journey and as a caregiver you described it perfectly...you lose yourself into the deteriorating loved one. Your body runs on the other person 24/7. I think having the dogs helped you also. The Chosen is fantastic and it gives us hope and shows Jesus had a human side with a little comic relief. As always prayers for your heart break and moving forward ❤
Thank you so much, Carol! And yes, Brittany and I had a lot of time to discuss and describe how we were feeling (with the help of very good therapists too) with each other. We kept each other lifted up as best we could, in the ways that we could. I describe how we started dating in episode 24.5, and because of our blessed circumstances, we made sure to hone and sharpen our marriage, all the way to the end.
Hello Darrin! Thanks for sharing with us. I don't know if this could help you. Recently, I got a heavy punching bag with gloves. I am learned a few simple combinations on TH-cam. I add it into my workout routine. I think it helps a bit with anxiety, anger, and depression. 😊
You know Darrin when I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, I really wasn’t sure I’d make it. As awful as that was, it would have been way worse for me to lose my husband and suffer through that. I did not want to be the one left. The pain and sadness of that must be unbearable so I commend you for doing as well as you are and trying to adjust to your new life.
Thanks, Madgrace! It's a struggle, to be sure. And everyone's walk was different... but, you said something that Brittany tole me a few times. She was glad it was her, because if was me with the cancer, she wouldn't be able to make it after I passed. I still hate to hear her say that - even in my head. I wanted to take it from her. I wanted to carry the pain. It hurt so much seeing her be the one to carry everything. But... God knew His purpose. Even when we don't understand it. Even when we don't like it.
I have started & stopped The Chosen several times. Its weird, maybe I am like Brittney in that as long as its still being filmed it throws me off. Will try again 😉

hahaha! Weeeeell, I've been in martial arts for about 13 years. I know ALL about the stress relief from a good ole' punching bag. It really does help!

I have trouble listening to Christian music right now. So many of the songs remind me of her and the desert road we all traveled & are traveling now.
I know Gran. I'm just getting back to listening to K-Love occasionally. Most of the time nowadays, I drive to work in silence.
