I usually don't like rosewood but all your rosewood guitars sound fantastic... Great channel, my friend. I especially loved the blind test videos. And all the tonewood combinations you do are fantastic!!
That's a really nice shimmery sitka and rosewood sound, good bass, fingerpickers' dream. Do you mind sharing your top thickness parameters. Is brace height 5/8, scalloped, side thickness, in short anything. If not, I understand bc thousandths count!
Hey Carlos, let’s see…top is about .100” to start, the x brace starts at 5/8 tall”, scalloped, sides around .080”, back around .085”. And that’s all you need to make a killer guitar. 😁🤣 But really, we don’t have any secrets. Good luck if you’re building something.
@@stephenkinnairdguitars Hey brother, thanks for those specs. Very loyal to CFM, as it should be. That's why they sound good. The Martin x braced flattop is showing itself to be the Cremonese violin of guitars. Can't be improved upon. Tiny adjustments only, and of course personal touches. Best to you. I wonder about archtops though. Might be some room for development. Nah, Gibson nailed it.
@@carlosreira2189 we do have our top and our braces with a 25’ radius. Back at a 15’ radius. But yes, we have definitely in a long tradition from CFM. Thanks for chatting. Feel free anytime.
