Drove to Emotiva yesterday in Franklin Tennessee! Was a nice little 2.5 hour road trip! picked up a MC1, BasX A2 & A5. Took my theater room to a level i've only dreamed about. Built like a tank, yet elegant.
I love my BasX MC1 processor with my Basx A3 and two BasX A4 amplifiers. All my Emotiva gear runs a 7.2.4 speaker configuration. Makes my movies go from ordinary to extraordinary!!
How did you decide on getting a 4 channel and 3 channel mix for your 11 channel HT versus a 5 channel and 6 channel mixture instead? Im debating on this very issue now based on power watts per channel but also expense. More channels in less space is more heat of course and less power but... 3 amps versus 2 amps in a rack for available space is also an issue and the extra cost. Thanks
@@sjsphotog Little by little. I originally had a 7.2 system using a receiver. First I bought the BasX 3 channel amp to just power my LCR speakers and was impressed with the sound, so I went ahead and bought a BasX 4 channel amp for the remaining surround channels. A couple months went by and the MC1 finally was in stock again, so I bought it. That was when I decided to also buy 4 ceiling speakers and another BasX 4 channel amp. There is hardly any heat generated by the devices.
Your choice of gear is exactly what I want in my home but, I'm not able to afford it nor am I sure the purchase would be worth the cost. Can you tell me about how installing the MC-1 and BasX amps is better than your prior system. I currently have an Onkyo AVR powering Emotiva T-Zero towers, C1+ center, SE8 sub and other brands for surrounds and on the ceiling. It's been fun and frustrating to make it work as well as it does but, the FOMO just never stops and I adjust it over and over. Thank you and all the best.
@@welderfixer The sound stage is bigger and the quiet sounds are louder with better detail. Put it this way... people that have separates never go back to an AV receiver.
@@SavageAirCinema Thank you. My decision to upgrade someday is set on separates. I did an experiment Sunday evening with my NAD two channel amp and connected it to my Emotiva T-Zero towers that are 4 ohm and I found the "dynamics" of the speakers to be much better than I expected. Your reply and that test seals my desire to work extra hard to get the Emotiva system like yours. Thanks again and all the very best to you and yours!
Brent, Thanks for another video on the MC-1. I am working every day in hopes to someday be able to afford to buy and install a complete BasX 5.2.4 system. However, this HT fad might burn out before I can get the gear. Currently, I'm so frustrated with my system I feel like junking all of it! I tried tuning and adjusting it again last night to further improve the sound field, but failed again. Oh well, time to give up.
Brent, I'm watching this again and wondering if there is some way to save all of the MC-1 settings to a USB thumb drive after making all of these tedious adjustments. Thanks!
Can you guys please allow an option to control play/pause/skip/fast forward/rewind of the connected Bluetooth device with the Emotiva remote? It's silly that it's not integrated like literally every other Bluetooth device out there
