Hi Nick Fairbrother, if you can get fresh seeds from last year they will be best. They have a long germination period and love a spell of cold and wet to kick them off so plant as soon as you can whilst we have a bit of cold out there. Once growing they are tough as old boots, it just the months of germinating that put most people off. I usually plant mine in June/July and they start sprouting in January/ February. It can be a long wait but well worth it, they can sometimes take longer to germinate if the seeds are old, real patience is required but well worth it in the end. Never chuck out a seed tray after a few months thinking nothing is happening, All the very best of luck Robbie 🌻
