Hi Andy! I'm shocked this is your first time in Utah! I've lived here for 10 years. I served in the U.S military overseas for 20 years and started my photography journey in Germany. Utah is staggering and you've come at a great time of the year. There is SO MUCH! Utah is home of the "Big 5" national parks, all located in southern Utah. There are state parks in Utah that would be national parks in any other state! And though it doesn't get the attention where I live in northern Utah past Salt Lake, there are the Wasatch and Cottonwood mountains that I'm sure you would appreciate...hundreds of jewels. You can't help it but you are just going to scratch the surface for what is really here. Great videos.

Thanks so much, glad you’re enjoying the videos. I knew when I went there that we’d barely scratch the surface and we’d have to leave out so much. we’ll be back though

I drove from Calgary Alberta down to Utah and Nevada through Montana and Idaho last October. Spent 3 weeks living out of my Rav4 and was SO impressed by the scale, colors, patterns and what I perceived as close proximity of one park to the next (interesting the difference in my perspective of distance vs how you felt). But you are right-the beauty just goes on, and on, and on...

Its pretty wild to see you enjoying the SW US, places I've been to instead of the Dolomites or Lofoten (that are bucket list for me). There is so much to see in the western US, I've been exploring all my life and there is still more to see. Anxiously awaiting the Pacific NW installment.

I had just spent the morning working on some landscape images I'd taken and was kinda bumming about some of the FB groups I'm in and how much AI is being passed as in body captures.. I hate wondering if every bird is real now.. I put this video on and I'm instantly inspired again. Andy, your photography is my absolute favorite to look at and I just can't get over how beautiful your shots always are to me. Stunning images Andy, I love the images with the 70 -300, never knew that lens could get such great results, I have been thinking about it for some time,do you ever use the Fujifilm tele converter for that lens. Torn between the 70-300 or the Tamron 150-500. Really enjoyed the video, but the drive in was pretty sketchy for sure.

It's unfortunate that you didn't catch premier light while in Canyonlands. Although my favorite time to photograph the Grand Canyon and Canyonlands is winter time, and I've been very fortunate to have been there a number of times with spectacular light, grey and overcast skies are always a possibility during the winter, as you've experienced.

Bizarre! I was just literally researching possible trips to the South-West when your video popped up on my feed. I'm coming to the conclusion that, being UK-based, booking a tour or hooking up with some local outfitters guides is the only sensible way to go, even though I normally like to travel independently. Those routes in need some serious know-how and a well-equipped vehicle. Not the sort of thing you'd rent from Hertz, etc. Did you go with guides or were they literally just friends / contacts, if you don't mind me asking?
Your comments about Cheat-Codes notwithstanding, that does look like a challenging location for finding compositions. I think I'd be constantly shuttling between intimate abstracts and trying to capture the grandeur with a wide angle. Perhaps 6 or 9 image portfolios might be the way to go in order to capture the essence?
Looking forward to the second vid.👍
