Parents are responsible for their children - adults. For themselves no claims on the city for not obeying signs. That the city has put guards on duty to prevent people swimming is not on the guards it’s the people who ignore the advice. What more can they do? They can’t put their hands on the people - so it’s not their fault.
Why is the people not cleaning up after themselves anymore? Filth in our country has become a joke. It is embarrassing to see people litter and not clean up after themselves
It's the DA. They don't know how to manage water services. In every single metro or municipality they serve, there has been water issues, pollution and other nonsense. Hartbeespoort Dam, Tswhane, Cape Town, nelson mandela bay, Springs, and here this... at least KZN had flooding and destroyed water facilties... natural damages... but some how the DA just can't get water right at all.
This is very close to where i live. My doggies seem to handle this water fine, but they are tougher than me. I shower them as soon as we get home. This water is not safe for humans.
So your TV station chose today to go search for the most negative story instead of showing us some good news stories of how packed the others beaches in and around Cape Town is. Hope this will change 2025.
Uvongo beach is even worse , people getting hospitalized from ecoli ...

I am 66 yrs old. As a child my parent would not let me swim in any of the lagoons because of pollution.

It's not about people, in my opinion. It's about culture. Sounds like it's the same thing, but it's not.
