Battle Maximus was a Masterpiece. I'm glad they kept the band together. This new album is great. Nice blend of the classic Gwar with some fresh riffs. It's also a great tribute to Oderus. (R.I.P. Dave)

What did you think about Ghoul that evening? I am a HUGE Ghoul fan, and thought they KILLED IT that night. I’d never really thought about it before, but Ghoul is a perfect touring match for Gwar, with their stage show and all.
@@FretlessMayhem ghoul was awesome on that tour! We went to multiple dates on this tour and hit the last show on the tour back at the national!

Phantom Limb kills me. I had to listen to the album a few time to let it all grow on me. Historicity the sound changes and evolves, this is the latest iteration of my FAV band and I love it. the last song, tho a cover, it sounds like they aren't done yet.
edit: GWAR never had a song where ppl might hold up lighted lighters. Now we have that song.

Not really. The road behind, ppl held up lighters. That was the song played for Flattus/Cory. Those were the good ole days before cell phones.

I do have to commend GWAR for actually putting out new material without making any excuses about Internet Piracy. Seems to me Piracy or not people are still buying GWAR merchandise and music enough to keep the ship sailing.
P.S. Meat Grinder Oderus spoke of in a classic interview confirmed.

I'm glad Bishop took over after Brockie but imagine if he came back as Beefcake covering both vocals and base ? Fucking solid idea I say.
It would have felt more "true" and inspirational, you know ? Can you imagine ? He was always my favourite Beef.

Still sad Daves gone. B.O.T.G's is a great tribute album. Gwar is the only Metal band that can bring tears to my eyes. Daves last album is a MASTERPIECE. I think Gwar put together a great follow up to it. It's got that classic Gwar sound blended with some heavy riffs. I'm digging it. Gwar is also the only Metal band to ever blend saxophones and guitars and get it right. I just wish they brought out some wild sax players live....hot naked woman sax players.

Beefcake playing bass is the original beefcake, when he had to take a leave the singer took over. Then the real beefcake came back, then Dave passed and now he is the singer.

I'll give it to Blothar he can chop a head off nicely. Should he be bigger than Beefcake??? I like that Gwar is still going and hope they do forever but I was a lil disappointed with the "rock and roll" feel from the new album. They were just getting more and more heavy with the music up until Cory passed and after Dave I don't think it will ever go back to that extreme style again and that's a bummer. I'm still seeing them when they come and listen to anything they put out, it's just not the same...
venomfour20 I do hope they can get that heavy sound whether it would take forever or not because Blothar has that heavy metal voice and him covering Gwar’s old music sounds great

Very true. Dave was animated, had a very intelligent mind and a great lyricist. Just read the lyrics for Jaques Cousteau. Nobody but Dave could write like that.
Fan of gwar since 2nd album came out. Sadly I can't follow them with fatty on vocals and Corey gone also. Oderus was 80% of gwar. Doing covers live is a waste of doing a gwar song....at least I had them for over 25 years

Agree. It's not the same and never will be. I've been to over 75 shows, got autographs from every band member, hung out with them, spent time with Dave at his home in Richmond that he shared with his manager but I refuse to go to whatever this is. This setlist sucked.
@@punklover99 As well as Alice Cooper, The Who & Cindy Lauper. As for the comments saying it sucks without Brockie, his voice was always the weak point on the albums for me. Brockie's creative vision, lyrics & on-stage performances are off the charts but Bishop has always been a better singer, and songs he sang always stood out as my favorites. At least they brought in someone who has already been a singer in the band to continue as Brockie would have wanted. If it's not the same without Brockie, you will always have the 11 albums he recorded, and there's the door.
