Sheep Farming At Ewetopia Farms: How To Feed Lambs Grain

The lambs are now starting to eat a lot more grain and solid food as they are starting to wean off their mothers. At our sheep farm, we mix our own grain to make our creep feed. Not all sheep farmers are able to do this but if you can, it is much more inexpensive plus you have more control over what you feed your sheep and lambs.

I put free choice baking soda out prevents bloat they self regulate. I had a few choke too from too fine a grind but thankfully they lived. A neighbor lost 8 rams in one day. I can tell yours are very well fed because they’re not fighting over to get more food

Yes, we put it out for them in the spring when they go out to fresh pasture. Yes, they do self-regulate 🙂
