Ford Ranger H11 LED Halogen Replacement Headlight Bulb Installation

  • ⭐⭐ Having fitted a set of these into my Audi A4 and then found how bad the headlights are on the Ranger Wildtrak, this was an obvious choice.
    Horrendously difficult to remove the rear cover off the assembly and then little space to work with to fit the bulb but that is because I didn't take out the full assembly to start off with. Other than the space restriction they are really straight forward to fit (make sure the polarity of the connection is correct or they don't work). But now I have brighter, white headlights, so well worth the effort.

    Just fitted the new fan-less Novasight H11 bulbs from your video on my new Ranger and what a difference. I was lucky as have had previous experience with the covers (spanner, a cloth and constant pressure). Such a great and very necessary modification to the truck! I want to do the H15 high beams next but the ones you have used are out of stock until further notice. Thanks for the video!

      Hi Matt, both the H11 and the H15 work fine without upsetting the CABUS system. It's a shame we haven't got the space to put the bigger and brighter H15's in but great that you liked the vid (and the improvement in the lighting) check out my other Video where I've upgraded the T10's in the headlights, now they do make a difference, isn't the white light great 😁👍

These bulbs completely change the driving at night (from candle power to real light). Have a look at this video to see them in action in mine. th-cam.com/video/O3USxfzpsFU/w-d-xo.html

    Hello,
    Ive replaced mine halogen H11s in my Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2018 for LED H11(8000LM, 30W, 6500K), but now my car keeps changing from lowbeam to daily/position lights in a matter of kilometers at a nonchanging weather or light conditions.
    Does anyone experience similar problems?
    Cheers!

      No bulb failure and no Canbus error (unlike the ones I've fitted to my 2008 Audi). Can't recommend a brand other than these that I've fitted, link in the review.

    Did you notice a massive difference between the halogen to the led? Been considering it for a while. Did you have to modify the caps at all?

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Huge difference, and it isn't that the light is necessarily more powerful, it is that the light is bright white, so everything stands out more and is more vivid. The original light on the Ranger are absolutely awful! And no, for the dipped (H11), you dont have to modify the caps at all, however, they are a bitch to get off the first time.....

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The original yellow halogen was awful, I had already put LED's into my Audi and replaced a Range Rover with the Ranger and that had Xenons on it so I was used to the white light and missed it

  • @MrCanucksluvr

    Have you had any issues with oncoming traffic? Just picked up a 16 Ranger and the bulbs are so bad. Looking for an upgrade for the main beam but trying to stay away from anything too blue or anything that will cause a problem to oncoming traffic. Oh and also not get me in trouble with the fuzz :D

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't upgraded the main beam, these are for the dipped. They completely change the driving experience (I though my night vision had suddenly disappeared when I first drove the ranger at night.) no issue with oncoming traffic as long as you install correctly. Go for a set of 'cool white' ones like I link into on here, absolutely fantastic!

      Thanks for replying, I was also wondering how the beam pattern is with these LED's you installed in the projector type headlight?

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems sharper across the top, a more defined cut off but that could just be because they are brighter. Overall though, just so much better to see with at night because of the white light and brighter. I honestly thought there was something wrong with the headlights the first time I turned them on at night having come from a Range Rover. This was one of the first things that I had to do

    Just tried to change my bulbs on my new 2018 Wildtrak. Fitted H15 LED's in the high beams and then when I went to change the low beams I found that they aren't H11, they are HIR2 9012. Very odd as in the handbook it says H11 and everywhere I've checked it says they should be H11. Looks like Ford might have changed the fitting on newer Rangers and not even updated the handbook.

    I got tiny brain so this kinda confused the living bugger out of me. I got the Ford Endeavor same headlights as your Ranger. I didn't know I need two h11 and h15 for High+DRL and low. Thanks for this video mate!

    Where did you purchase the LED light lightbulbs from?

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've upgraded them again since, even happier. This is the link to my vid and the bulb links are below it. You can get them from the Auxito website with the discount code I've put on there, or from amazon and Ive put the ink on for both, very bright, white light with a good cut off 👍🏻

    You show us the easy part how do you get the new bulb to go in

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The easy bit was getting the bulb in, the impossible bit was getting the cap off 😁

    How to remove the cover of the light?

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's in the video. It doesn't screw all the way off. You have to marry the lugs up then pull off.....

    Hi all I created a tool to extract the bulb covers. Used a pies of steel plate 70mm x 40mm x 5mm. Welded a 19mm Nitin centre of plate and then welded two stub s 10mm dowels on the other face.
    Place over the cap, attach 19mm socket and wrench and a tweak counter clockwise and off they pop.
    Prior to making the tool I spent over an hour trying to twist them off! What an appalling design!!!

      You obviously don't have a Ranger Bernie , or don't drive it in the dark if you have.....

      @@CloughReviews lol , Obviously? I do and do drive at dark. I am obsessed with lights. Thats why I know , and anyone interested in headlights , that PnP LEDs does not work.
      Perhaps if you se a complete retrofit, you wil realise that.
      I am all for DIY vidoes mate , dont get me wrong. But showing people how to blind other people, thats what I dont like

      I get that, but, I did a check on these after fitting, the cut off is pretty defined and although the spread is different to the tungsten (slightly), you don't get a scatter. The beam is still down and not into oncoming traffic. Never been flashed once. I am able to see though, which is so much more than with the factory fitted halogens. You have quite a bit of adjustment on these fortunately. Maybe I should have said in the video to check though 👍
