    Filipino here. 🇵🇭 We love adding vinegar to our dishes. Especially vinegar as a side condiment. We dip our lumpia in there mostly. The sweet and sour sour sauce is bomb, but mainly there to please the masses. Haha And yes, we love adding vinegar to our rice too! So you did it right!👏🏽

  • @meo8491
    @meo8491 2 ปีที่แล้ว +46

    Yes, when you're Asian you just have to go with rice as breakfast. And yes you guys are doing great with the vinegar, you can just dip in the longganisa or pour some on top of your rice especially if they 're really good you can't just help but do both! I'm really enjoying your mukbang videos so far, and it really makes me hungry as well hahaha! That's why when I'm watching you guys it's a must that I have a food beside so I can much together with you haha! Love from the Philippines

    The tray is back again! 😂 You guys did it right! Dip both of them in vinegar, also with tapa. I just ate longanissa, egg, garlic rice this morning and now watching your mukbang makes my mouth water!
    Gosh, you are right about the spanking part. In the philippines our parents used to smack us with belt, sandals or a hanger whenever we do something wrong. Sometimes they smack you for just being home late. But def not considered as abuse. Now that I got older, I realized how important that part of my life was and understand everything they did for me.

    I think Asian parents are like the same. Hearing your childhood makes me remember how dramatic I am back then. I too will pack my things and thinking where will I go then literally after couple of minutes my mom will ask if I were hungry. Those times were amazing 💗

    The stuffs inside the drink are sago (powdery starch from the trunks of sago palms) and gulaman (gelatin) And you're also right Halo Halo has sago and gulaman in it too. 😁 I finished the whole video, and I really love watching you both and talking about your childhood days. I used to get a lot of spanking too from my Asian parents. 😂 More power to the channel! 🇵🇭

    I wish you guys would do more vlogs or these type of videos :( it shows more of your personality and it builds more of an emotional and mental connection with your subs. Some people prefer no talking but if you did that too often, people would just skim through the video to see if you’ve ate it all lol then wouldn’t really care to watch your channel again, unless you’ve prepared it yourself and did some good edits. Everybody’s preferences is diff tho so but I enjoy your little convos during mukbangs, etc :D

    Sago't gulaman or boba and gelatin is a fave drink in PHL, especially during the summer.... It is made with caramelized brown sugar thinned with water and a hint of vanilla or banana extract...

  • @burntsushii
    @burntsushii 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The vinegar is for cutting the sweetness, so yeah you dip the tocino and the longganisa on vinegar.
    Atsara(pickled papaya) or Ensaladang mangga (Unripe mango salad) could also be used the same way.

  • @keioboysakurai

    Someone might've already commented but the best way to eat any 'SiLog' meal is to eat a portion of the meat + rice + egg (& maybe a bit of atchara - the pickled side dish, usually made of papaya) in one spoonful! 😍 you're right, atchara is a palate cleanser. Just like the vinegar, it also helps cut the greasy taste 😉 love watching your 먹방s but they always make me hungry 😅

  • @betharcega7089
    @betharcega7089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's called Filipino breakfast but we also have it for lunch and dinner....the pickles are called atchara ( shedded papaya with carrots and bell peppers) ...the sweet pork (tocino) is pork shoulder... your drink is gulaman... with caramel, gelatin and boba pearls called sago

  • @marcc5768
    @marcc5768 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    really enjoy watching your Philippine content. Since for those with diabetes or managing gout..have to watching the sugar content in foods (white rice) red meats (for gout). Sago is just the same as Boba without the brown sugar coloring. Gulaman is a pinoy type jello/gelatin. It's not usually in Halo Halo tho. The jelly in Halo Halo is usually Nata de Coco and Kaong (sugar palm fruit). I miss tocino and longanisa so much.

    If you're planning to try more dishes soon, I suggest:
    1. Beef tapa or Tapsilog - this is best paired with garlic rice and egg; this breakfast set is similar with what you ate
    2. Daing na bangus (dried milkfish) - this is honestly the best with garlic fried rice and egg (i like to dip my fish with soy sauce with calamansi)
    3. Pandesal - this is a filipino ver of bread, it has a unique feel to it compared to regular bread (if u manage to find, ube cheese pandesal is goood.)
    If you're into sweet things:
    1. Champorado - this is a sweet chocolate rice porridge; you place a drizzle of milk and some sugar and you mix it! this can also be paired with pandesal
    2. Taho - this is best eaten warm! its basically a silken tofu, sago or tapioca pearls, and a simple brown sugar syrup
    Loove your videos, and im so glad you enjoyed filipino food

    the atchara is good in cutting the oilyness of the meat. the contrast between the pickle flavor or atchara and meat and garlic rice makes one wanna eat more. The vinegar is a dip for the longganisa but it also good for the tocino.

  • @angelopaolo
    @angelopaolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just had tapsilog last night as dinner at home. You can eat it as breakfast, lunch or dinner. I prefer to eat it with vinegar w/raw garlic as the sauce for tapa. A little trick I do to make the vinegar spicy is add Tabasco on it or if you have chili crush it on the vinegar, even better!

  • @littlesparrow1284
    @littlesparrow1284 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    8:02 The side dish is basically like the kimchi version of the Philippines. It's also the Filipino version of pickles popularly made with grated unripe papaya though others use assorted vegetables, bamboo shoots or a weed. It is often served as a side dish for fried or grilled foods such as pork barbecue, chicken barbecue or any grilled seafoods.

    Hello girls. I know I am commenting again because it will take about 1 hour to write this 😂😂 DAY 3 OF REQUESTING SRI LANKAN FOOD. So I just wanna recommend the food😊
    You have to get "chicken kottu" which is made with parata and vegetables. They will most probably provide the " kottu gravy" as I like to call it. And the next thing is "appa" or hoppers in English . It is like a very crispy pancake but in like a different shape. Also they will probably give you "lunumiris" . And last main food is " lamp rice " or "indiappa" (string hopper ). Lastly dessert, You must try " watalappan" it is made from eggs and jagery and put in the oven to cook. But it's not hot. And that is it. I hope that you pretty girls will try it😁 Love youuuuu💕💕💕💕

    Thank you for appreciating our food. We like your samgyupsal food combinations too.
    PS. We don't really put vinegar on our rice, we only dip the longganisa and tocino in it. We are into dipping sauces. It would be a great Filipino food combination if your dipping has vinegar, chopped onions, tomatoes, chili and sprinkle it with a bit ground black pepper.
