- When first released, this was a mystery project that many have enjoyed making. Here we'll make a clutch style bag that opens out to a foldable shopping bag with storage for your phone or keys.
I'd usually tell you right up front what we're making in each video, but this time, I thought I'd have a little fun. How many of you can sew along with me without skipping forward to the end of the video?

I watched the video without looking ahead.
@maryfalkner5640 haha, well done Mary 😄
I made the bag as I went and did not look ahead. That was wonderful , I enjoyed the process.
@sandrapundt1981 wow, that takes a lot of patience Sandra. Well done 😄
I didn't fast forward because I loved this format. I haven't been so entertained by a sewing video in years! Great project, too!
Thanks so much Yaya. I'm glad you enjoyed it😁
All your videos are very entertaining. I also have learnt so much.
Love this project will be sewing this for sure.this is Emily
I did not peek, I love it. What a clever idea. Can't wait to take mine shopping. Lots of fun to have a mystery.
haha, thanks Paula😁
Been watching your videos for a while now, love the way you explain everything. Thank you for sharing your talent
Thanks so much Annette😁
I was a good girl and didn’t peek! Great little bag!!
Thanks Wendy. Well done😁
I resisted the urge to fast forward the video! 🎉🎉 I'm quite surprised! 😂😂 Great job, I love it! 👍👍👏👏❤❤
Thanks so much Robyn😁
I didn’t cheat. This was fun! Can we have more quick projects like this! Christine, you are brilliant!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️
Thanks Debbie. I'll have to think up some more easy projects soon😁
Naughty me couldn't help myself going straight to end.
Love your work Christine. And I will watch in full in the morning
As always ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks Bec. I'd be the same😁
I resisted 😂. Love your interpretation of the Chris’s shed find.
haha, thanks Nanci😁
I love the foldable project. I didn’t fast forward. I’ll be making this for myself and family.
Happy sewing Mike. I hope they love them😀
I managed to watch all the way through without peeking. Very clever take on the foldable shopping bag.
Thanks Linda. Glad you made it to the end😁
Very nice Christine!!!!!
(…and no, I didn’t cheat!!)
haha, well done. Thank you😁
What a wonderful idea!!! And such a lovely gift idea for friends!! Thank you so much Christine…….love it!! 😁🥰
You are so welcome Margie. Thank you😁
This was fun, I didn’t peek, thank you!
Well done Kenna. Thank you😁
Yay I finally got time to have a go at this. I had already seen the outcome from FB posts so I knew I wanted to give it a go. When I showed my husband he asked that I make more so he can have them in his car. He requested that I add holes to the top like the plastic shopping bags to hold it open at the checkout. Thanks Christine great job and I love the French seam soo easy 🤩🤩
The holes at the top are a great idea Gaye😁
That’s adorable! I didn’t fast forward at all.
Thanks Dianne. Well done😁
What a brilliant idea. My Christmas presents are solved.
That's a great idea Carol😁
I was getting ready for bed but now I need to go make this bag!
Excellent! They'll make great gifts too😀
Christine great project, I didn't peak. It s so handy. Thanks 😊
Haha, well done Janet. Thank you😁
A really great bag for travel too / will fit flat in a suitcase or purse ❤ fun tutorial 😊 thank you!
Thanks so much Iris😁
I love this! I resisted peeking, because I like a good surprise. I will be making some of those for sure.
Well dome for not peeking Beverly😁
I didn’t peek. Love the idea. I’m sure it will be a great addition to your shop.
Thanks Pat😁
I enjoyed the "mystery" of the making of this bag. I tried guessing what it was going to be. Didn't guess the correct thing, of course. What a brilliant bag to have! I always find myself quickly stopping at the shops on my way home from somewhere else and then not having a bag in which to put my purchases. So I am definitely going to swop my regular purse for this one.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I'll have to come up with some more😁
So Clever Christine! So many thanks.
Thanks Gilda😁
This is neat. Have to watch it again and then save it. Had the video running while finishing off a jumper. This will be nice Christmas presents.
Thanks Christel. This will make great gifts😁
I didn’t jump ahead! Though normally I would! This is nice, if you do another mystery sew I will sew along and be surprised at the end!!
Thanks Tiffany. I'll have to think up some more😁
That is very neat! I like this idea of the mystery project sew along.
I actually did make it through with looking ahead.
Well done Dana. Thank you😁
What fun!
I didn’t look ahead but around 16 minutes I got an inkling what we were making.
This really entertained me, thanks Christine
I nearly let it slip a couple of time Christine😊
Really love this. In fact I’m off to make one right now! I didn’t fast forward either. I watched it while I had my brekky, sitting in my garden in Scotland enjoying some rare sunshine.
That sounds like a lovely place to be Lynne😀
Recovering from COVID - this was great fun to use my brain again! I didnt peek....
Oh I hope you recovered well Sharon. It can really know you about 😁
Brilliant. I love it. Thank you Christine ❤️
My pleasure Honey. Thank you😁
I did not peek, what a great tutorial. I'm going to make some of these. How much would you charge in your shop for these? Thank you so very much, great job, you make me laugh and smile every time. Keep it real as that is what we are. Thanks again.
Thanks so much Barbara. Depending on the fabric, I'd charge $15 - $20 each😁
Omg this is just perfect for my dust bag for my purses ...I loved other one you did but this one is even better I'm going to hook to my purses with a strap with a lobster clip and they can use as a fold up bag and a dust bag for their purse ....I just love you....luv
What a fabulous idea Michelle. Thank you😁
I waited. Your a great teacher. You explain everything very well. Love your videos!!
Thanks so much Dana. Well done waiting 'till the end😁
I saw it on Facebook before I saw the video which spoiled the ending surprise but I love the idea of a mystery project. I made one and think it’s so cute. Thanks, Christine!
My pleasure Kim. Thank you😀
I resisted fast forwarding too! I'm definitely gonna make one of these and also your cutlery pouch 😊 thanks 😊
Happy sewing Anna. They'll go well together😀
Loved this, I hate surprises too so I already knew what it was. Anyway the putting of it together was mystery enough😂. I’ve been looking for a quick shopping tote pattern for a while, now I have one 👍 thanks again x
My pleasure Susan. Thank you😁
Very neat and clever!I didn't peek!
Thanks Deborah. Well done😁
So awesome. Thanks for the mystery project. This would make the best Christmas present.
Hate to admit it…I fast forwarded, but I’m glad I did. Lol. 😃
haha, I would have too Celine😁
Great I always wondered how they made those bags. Thank you enjoyed this more mystery sew along lol enjoy
I'm glad you enjoyed it BJ. Thank you😁
I resisted scrolling ahead, but it was not easy! Haha! Love the bag and your channel! Pat in FL
Thanks so much Patricia😁
Thanks for all your great video's 😍
Wow, that's so generous. Thank you Lesley😊
I didn't cheat! Had no idea what the project was until you slipped & said 'bag'. Very creative & practical project. Happy Sewing ♥️ 🧵🪡
haha, I almost slipped a few times at the beginning Adam😁
I love it, and I didn't peek!
haha, well done Debbie😁
Very nice and very useful too. I guessed it to be a folding bag, and resisted fast forwarding. I have a very similar bag waiting for about 20 yrs ,for me to make a pattern from and reproduce it. Thank goodness you have made such a lovely pattern, (for me), Christine. I am really happy to follow your pattern instead. ❤❤
That's awesome Jess. Thank you😁
Love, love, love this. It’s just so smart. I will be making several of these as Christmas gifts. Thank you, Chris, and Christine for such a great idea and tutorial. 😊
You are so welcome Linda. Thank you😁
Love it. I came late, but didn't ff to the end. I will be making some for Christmas presents! Thank you Christine
I'm sure they'll be well received too. Thank you😁
I didn't jump ahead. Thanks Christine. That is cute.
Thanks Patricia. Well done😁
I waited to the end, but was very tempted to fast forward.very nice project, as always 😊
Thanks Ann😁
❤ your idea for an excellent bag than you. Enjoyed following along and I didn't cheat lol
Well done Sheila. Thank you😁
Brilliant! So great! Thanks so much!
You are so welcome! Thank you😁
I didn’t fast forward!!! But I did guess it was a fold up bag. Well don’t. Very useful indeed.
Brilliant! I didn't look ahead. I did guess what it was towards the end. I love it! Much cuter than the ones that just roll up and snap.
Thanks Brenda. I think it's my favourite so far😁
Well done. Loving that it packs down to a clutch.
Haven't made one yet but intend too.
And I didn't peek!!😅
Thanks Sheri. Well done😁
That's ingenious! 😊❤ I love it. I use french seams when making Magic Pillow Cases. I can close up the lump where the top meets the bottom. There's quite a bit in that top seam, and you don't have to worry about any tangles after washing. So instead of 2 seams, it's 3. 😊 I love that bag! You could use just about any fabric could work. Your imagination is astounding, and your ability to explain everything is even better. I watch a few sewing channels, but there's only a couple that can explain things so you can follow. Thanks again Christine!😊
Thanks so much Sharon😁
No peeking here! ⭐️
haha, good job Alison😁
I didn’t fast forward as I was enjoying the format. Thankyou Christine. A great project .
Thanks Marie. Well done not FF😁
This was fun!!! Very clever. I misunderstood cutting instructions, so I used 3 coordinating fabrics. I like how it turned out! I didn’t look ahead because I like surprises, but the minute we made handles I knew it was some kind of bag. I’ve never seen one like this and I will make more. I replayed the video a lot because I had trouble seeing right side from wrong side of your fabric. Relaying helped keep me straight. Thanks for doing this.
Your bag turned out great Sharon. I have a bad habbit of selecting the wrong print when making some videos😁
I didn't fast forward, just enjoyed watching till the end ❤
Thanks Pauline. Well done😁
Love the end product! I didn't peak either 😉 It took me embarrassingly long time to figure out what you were making though haha.
Great video! Handy little bag.
Thanks Heather😁
i resisted! love this and going to give it a whirl. thx
Thanks Gail. Well done😁
So awesome ...love it. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure Doris. Thank you😁
Wow!

Thanks Sadia😁
I, too, did not peek and made this fun mystery project! Thank you, Christine! 💕
I'm glad you enjoyed it Maria. Thank you😁

These will make great gifts Andrea😁
Great little bag thank you Christine! will be making several, one for myself of course and for xmas gifts!
Thanks Julie. They'll make great gifts😁
I didn’t fast forward, though I saw on FB the end result but still didn’t realize how the pocket would work. I did start realizing it was like your strawberry bag, which I’ve made several. I may make some of these after I finish my current project.
Hugs from Nevada,
Cathy❤
Thanks Cathy. I think these might be even better than the strawberry bags😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I agree, I really like that they fold flat.
I watched all the way through, and I couldn't help it!
Well done Krisin😁
Love it! I watched to the end, NO FF for me. I love surprises. Lol
Glad you enjoyed it, and waited 'till the end😁
You are right. I fast forward. Now I know I want to buy that heavier fabric available at the consignment and make bags something like yours (for gifts). I didn't know what I could do with that heavy fabric (in fun prints). Thank you.
My pleasure Arvetta. Thank you😁
I love mystery sewing g projects..this was fun and in the end very useful. Mine is made using denim that I had pieced together. I plan on doing a bit of sashiko stitching on the pocket. Thanks for the entertaining project.
That sounds like a great idea Dorothy. I do love Sashiko😁
I love surprises, so I didn't look ahead. Love this idea. Will be making some as pressies.
These will make great gifts Linda. Well done not peeking😁
Can't wait to make this, great tutorial! ❤

You showed great restraint Christine. Well done😁
I love it! Thank you ❤
Thanks Derdrie😁
I love the pattern, I have been looking for one to make. I may try adding a swivel hook so it can hang from either a belt loop or a purse. Thank you, Christine, for this project.
That's a good idea Christine. Thank you😁
I am hoping to make one this weekend with a swivel hook. Will post a pic as soon as possible
I love it!
That is SO COOL!
Thanks Dawn😁
That's clever!
Thanks Tina😁
That’s a clever design and so handy, didn’t know it was going to be that . Thank you for sharing and making us guess 😁.
You’re welcome Eve. Glad I kept you guessing 😊
I like it. Thank you!!!
I didn’t look ahead. 👏👏
Thanks Tracy😁
Yes, I did guess what it is but no idea of the finished product. I did not go ahead. Wanted the surprise. Thank you Awesome
Well done Mary. Thank you😁
Didn’t peek 🫣
Clever design nicely made.
I haven’t made it… yet. With such a small work space it’s being prepped for the big boxy bag and assembling everything for it.
It’s going to be full of surprises too. 🤞
Thanks Duncan. You might need a simple one like this after you finish the big bag😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs once the big boxy is done I’m intending to make this one. Probably a few for gifts.
Awesome make!
Thanks Janet😁
