@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I'd ve interested in a bigger bag loved this one. I made it bigger but then couldn't pull it out as I put stiffening in thanks christine what's next ill look forward to seeing it
That is a lovely little bag and I love the fabric and black contrast too. That’s a great technique and will have the benefit of securing the lining down. Very in vogue too. Thanks Christine x
Very cute bag, Christine. Love the fabric and the style. I heard an Etsy shop owner report that puffy cosmetic zipper bags are very popular for 2024. So you’re right on.
thank you for teaching us all these new tricks and for actually giving us the measurements so we can try to make one and not have to buy and print out stuff all the time i truly enjoy all your videos, love your accent as well! i’m American from ohio so i’m sure i sound different to you as well,,, 😂
I love that bag!!!! ❤ The high contrast between the white and black is effective. I learned how to anchor the lining to the outer fabric, a very useful tip. Thanks again for another educational video!! 🇨🇦
Oh my goodness, just when i thought i could have some time off you have come up with another great bag😂😂😂. Thank you again Christine another wonderful sew along video which i absolutely love as always💕
What a treat to wake up to this video. It's just what I needed to start a pleasant weekend. Thanks again for taking the time to create another soothing yet informative video. I love that your projects are actually doable and not overly complicated. Would consider giving us some special serger tricks and tips? I have a serger but it doesn't get as much use as it should. I would love to how you use yours most.
Thanks Jayne. It's all in the DST that you use. I found that the ones that comes off easily is better for your needles, whilst the paper that stays, also gums up your needles😀
Such an adorable boxy bag! Would make a terrific toiletry or cosmetic bag. Thank you for sharing Christine! I had somewhat of a hard time following how to do those corners but I think it was because both fabrics were a light color so I will watch again to figure it out. You are a wonderful instructor and I love your videos ❤
You are very talented and creative, I love your work, you are so fast and they are beautiful, I’ve really enjoyed seeing your work and art at sewing, Thanks so much for sharing with us. ♥️♥️👍👍
Afternoon Christine just made one of these and used a continuous zip for the first time after watching your demo, thank you for taking time to show us how to do it x
Great bag. gorgeous fabric, I'm sure you will sell many of these in your shop being such a convenient sized bag. Thank you for sharing this great project xxx
I LOVE this bag! I’m going to make one today. I’m donating a few of my bags for an upcoming silent auction and I think these will be popular. Thank you for continuing to post fun bags for us to make.
I finally made the bag!! I think the hardest part was the cutting. I came out wonderful! This is only my second bag ever. I'm not the straightest sewer, but it came out amazing! Thank you, Christine!! I used what I had at home, which was soft vinyl and 1.5 in strapping, and I had no problems at all when turning it right-side out :)
Yes, this is a great bag! Easy enough, I’ve been busy trying many different of your ideas. The only downside is everyone wants one of whatever I’m making! 😄🫶thanks Christine
Im a few days behind but just made it, got a little over excited and forgot to use stabiliser . I used cow print upholstry and I love it. So easy with your amazing instructions Christine, thank you for sharing this. 🌻
Love this Christine! And this is a new technique for me, I'm excited to try it!! I just bought a blanket and going to try this with that! Thanks for all your sharing. I get lots of ideas from you. I really like sewing the boxed corners of the lining to the outer bag. It keeps the lining in place. Would your leftover piece of upholstery fabric be large enough to be the top of a 2 toned bag? While looking at your finished bag laying on the table, I was thinking about how striking the white and black looked. And then I thought that it would really look sharp with a black canvas bottom portion. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning from Sputh Westeren Pennsylvania, USA, here. I am a huge Vera Bradly lover. Have you thought about adding the feature to the box bags? My idea is cutting up broken totes in the shape of the cardboard bottom and using that plastic as the bottom in replace of the cardboard. Really wondered what your idea would be to add that to a box bag? Also love how your machine cuts the threat when finished with stitching. Didn't know that was an option. Hi Marie, I used to add sleeves to tote bags I made years ago. I should do that in a future video. Thanks for the idea. As for the machine, here's the review video I did for mine. th-cam.com/video/zF-QdiZ4m1A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5qHuyzUKhHHeT_fM It's an Australian badge, but you can get the same model from collierequipment.com/?fbclid=IwAR32Aq-ys4oalXE6qayfPlXVl_oASpzTXn3ZXeJ_CuIjJQtK4IbpYpZ1_sg The thread cutter is available on many machines including some Janome, Brother, and many others. Great tutorial as always Christine. I've just made the bag and love it. I don't suppose there is any reason why I couldn't make the bag bigger, more a carry on size. 😊
Not necessarily. Basically whatever width you want the base to be, you need half that measurement for the boxed corners. That's not counting seam allowance though. If you want 10" then boxing is 5" each side plus your seam allowance😊
Hey. Love your channel! Your instructions are so clear. I’ve made a few projects now following your tutorials and they turned out great! I’ve seen a few people make fish drawstring totes and they are soooooo cute. But all of the videos make really small bags and they lack your skill in step by step instructions. Any chance you could make a video for these? One that’s larger than the typical ones I’ve found. Thanks!!!!!
Thank you Anna. I have a few drawstring bag tutorials, and will do another next week. If you search "drawstring" on my channel, you'll see the sizes I have. If you have something else in mind, you can email me too😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs thanks. I’ve seen your drawstring bags but the one I’m interested in is a draw string bag shaped like a fish and the drawstring forms the mouth. It’s unique and really cute. Sewing Times and Thuy Crafts have videos on them but they’re pretty small and not great instructions. Hoping you can make them for us with your instruction wizardry!
I’m ready to try to make my first boxy bag, however I would really like to add zippered pocket to the inside. I know how to add a patch pocket with a zipper, but how do you make it so the bulk of the pocket is between the outer fabric & and the lining? Create an opening & apply the zipper & pocket the same method as the main zipper?
If you enjoyed this video & feel like giving something back to the channel, you can do that here..... www.buymeacoffee.com/stitchthisr
