The new Barbarian King skin, the Dark Ages King, is a decent Gold Pass skin but is it worth the money/gems?

He's design is extremely match with Gladiator Queen, specially the dark blue color of his helmet
They had to make a remodel for Gladiator King and put this one instead of that shameful design of Gladiator king
The dark ages Queen skin looked good in the commercials but it was ugly in game. Idk if anyone else felt like this, but it definitely not as good
First i thought my GPU rendering sucks but it's not. The queen just got ugly arse model in game itself. I really hope Royal Champion would be better for a legendary skin. 🤞
yeah. but i need to complete the set because i love the scenery especially it remind me of my favourite game which is The Withcher 3

Good review! I think you are spot on. Totally agree with your heart hunter assessment too ha. This Skin reminds me of the Gladiator Queen Skin. Its like I kind of like it, but never get excited to put it on, so it sits in the gallery 99% of the time!
Doing a dark king thats a suped up version of the dark prince would have fit perfectly for this skin, imagine if when you eage up and get the speed boost he jumoed on a horse
As much as I love the overall dark ages theme, I do kinda find myself agreeing with you on this skin. For the price of the whole gold pass and getting this as the first reward I will say it is kinda worth it imo, but other than that, still kinda bland like you said
I honestly think the beast king skin pairs a bit better with the dark ages warden and queen more than the dark ages king. Also I’m not sure if you noticed but if you go to his selection animation when selecting another skin and listen closely, the clashing weapons and voices in the background are similar to the inferno base background ambience.

The only skin i like from this set is the royale champion, but i love the scenery too
im a gold pass fanatic, i dont have any choice but to accept that skin. if I can trade that skin into books, i would definitely do it.
The Goblin Queen is not ugly and not plain. And the in game render is so high quality

When they introduced dark age skins I thought it would be great but only grand warden skin is good the archery queen is decent according to legendary skin, from the trailer king and RC skin is trash I don’t like both of them
Im running him on my TH13 and with shadow scenery. The color scheme matches really well. I hope the champion skin has similar colors.

I personally love him, and I don't think that simple means boring. He looks mean and strong, and he gives you way more value than the gladiator king:
His animations are perfect... his punching animation is the best in the game, and his sword attack ain't bad either... but my favourite part is that he pulls his mask up when u tap on him. It's a solid 8/10 skin

This skin is a disappointment mostly because its not even medieval! This is like if you took gladiator queen and called it medieval queen.
It sucks because I love a medieval theme and the other 3 heroes fit it so perfectly. If you really want a medieval king skin league or chess king are much better options. I guess this one is supposed to be the knight because royal champion also does medieval king so much better! A feather would fit better than an mohawk if you want a more medieval looking knight.

They did that on purpose. absolutely on purpose. I remember the old clash of clans king skin before that new goofy creepy smile animation we have today. I thought (weird).
Now i know they are really trying to make the king look goofy. THE WIZARD. THE QUEEN. THE CHAMPION. THEY ARE GOOD.
THE KING? THEY GOOFED HIM UP. They sat down in their business meeting and said we need a way to make young men more goofy and think thats masculine. And they created goofy king. Tsk tsk tsk.
The design is not even good in my opinion,the AQ,and RC have amazing outfits but why not the king which there's more reference for it's design.

I bought this March of gold pass in 2023 for the 2nd times
I mean I like this skin set ( Dark ages king looks quite mean than party king, Galdiator king, Jolly king) I prefer Knights Themes...... I'll wait for 1 year and buy it with gems not with gold pass 😅 cuz they kinda increased prices by 100% than previous prices..
The Kings model is fat and ugly, sluggish. And they portray him like a clown. Also another thing I've noticed is favoritism towards the queen by designers. When the dark ages queen was released all 4 heroes showed in the wallpaper, now then king is released you barely see him on the wallpaper. King needs new model that represents berserk strenght and speed, more muscles less rounded features, such as the nose.
