Ummm.. I have to push back on this. FCP does not have spatial audio editing tools. You are looking at a dolby surround panner that places the audio in a space relative to fixed speaker arrangements. Spatial audio takes in account where the users head is relation to that audio space and requires completely different tools to do this.
That is why I say in the video until Apple updates fcp , this is the closest you can get. I suspect they will add the 3D object panner as the one in Logic Pro - but the idea is the same, mixing it is one half of it, the head movement with the device is what takes it from surround to spatial. Thanks for watching and the comment!
I work a lot in Dolby atmos and Spatial Audio, one pro tip is to set your system to Spatial Audio but just normal stereo. It’s all meta data so then your video will sound great on normal speakers but if your audio system or headphones support Dolby atmos then the audio will auto adapt. If you have bed tracks like 5.1 you can’t really go down but you can always go up.
Thanks to post this! I had no idea (just set on Stereo forever) and of course FCP doesn’t have Spatial Audio editing tools…but I DO have a Zoom H6 and 4 or 5 mics etc etc…AND Logic Pro and THANK you Rafael. Will check further. Cheers
The video title is totally wrong and thats not what the video is about. You going to have bad watch time and thumbs downs because of it. I suggest you change it.

I wonder if doing a music video you could mix in dolby atoms in Logic then transfer the file to Final Cut?

I had no idea this was available! Thanks for bringing it up.

Thank you for the clear, concise walkthrough of FCP's Spatial Audio capabilities. No bullshit, this was a breath of fresh air.

Hopefully FCP will get 3D Object Panner like the one in Logic. That would be a nice add. Thanks for watching and the comment David!
Awesome & Thanks :)
