Yes, it's a brilliant app and information source but recently I had problems on my android so tried to re-install and still not working -although I had no issues for over a year prior.
Downloaded BBC Sounds app to smartphone and found it great. However... Could not see anywhere on the app to log out of my account. Have now deleted the app. Am I missing something? If able to log out, I would reinstall.
Curious about the my sounds section. I went to downloads and saw there were no episodes that had been downloaded, just a bit of text saying: "download episodes to listen anytime." I put my phone in aeroplane mode and went to play a sound in my sounds section just on the main screen, not in the downloads section. To my surprise, the file began playing. I assumed it would only stream as I hadn't told it to download, just play so as the phone was in aeroplane mode, it shouldn't have been able to play right? Not sure what is going on here so any clarification is greatly appreciated. :) I only want to stream the episodes in my sounds, not have them download to my phone and take up space as I have other podcasts and music and want to save space for those in other apps. Didn't really find any assistance in app settings either.
Once I am listening there is no way I can turn it off. I've searched the internet but can't find any information , even this site doesn't tell you. Only way is to turn my phone completely off and back on which is a right pain.
I find the BBC Sounds app perversely opaque. Thank you for producing this guide - but alas the aggressively distracting background noise forced me abandon the attempt to listen to it after a couple of minutes.
I used to ask my alexa echo to play BBC radio 2 which it did for years with out a problem, It was that simple. Now it tells me I need to link and connect a BBC app to this and that open an account etc etc , I have done all of this many times and every time It fails to play the radio. Well as Einstein said " Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" well I did exactly that, and on about day 4 for some unknown reason it decided to link Alexa. It now works, well it did last time I tried it 😫😒
Shame the BBC can't talk to Apple so that it works with thier devices rather than having to use the yet another app. The same is true for Amazon devices with BBC and the lack of multi room features that the BBC blocks as Amazon don't want to share data. Crazy.
It's not all great news. I have an internet radio, today I hear the BBC is closing all its services in order to get people to use the sounds app. This will mean my expensive radio will no longer be able to receive ANY BBC radio at all. I'm not very pleased.
Truly awful background music and completely un-necessary. I would have liked to see how to use the podcast app i.e. including where to store podcasts on my device. I'm afraid this video taught me nothing, it was more like a sales pitch from the BBC.
Your explanation is crystal clear and your enthusiasm is contagious. 👍
I’m from America and I love BBC Sounds
Thank you for taking the time to show this app it does everything i want great work
Brilliantly presented, thank you so much.

Any idea how to link bbc sounds app to Alexa??
What a pile of shite. iTunes at least worked from the box without a tutorial back in the mid 00's. 20yrs later and BBC needs a explanation video!
Oh shit....he used the current yuckspeak, 'super'.....I'm gone
