I love Zeref and Mavis, they are in my top 5 Both are such interesting characters and I tend to gravitate towards charcaters who are psychologically interesting to study for me.
Rogue didn't deserve to be hit because of touching Yukino. He deserved it because of how long he hung on and the squeeze. And because he was offended by getting a face full of Ichiya. That is a _gift!_
Zeref's and Mavis' backstory is really interesting and a huge part of the story. It's in two arcs I believe. It also has the best opening in my opinion.
Fun fact is that it's been stated in the early chapters of the manga that Bisca looked up to Erza, and now we know why! Erza really gave this girl not only a job and a home, but FT ends up being the place where she meets her future husband who she has a kid with, so no it's no wonder. This episode really showcased Erza's strict-but-kind personality which I love, she's fierce and scary but has a heart of gold. ❤️ This isn't filler btw, it has some additions (like the mouse which we've never seen before appearing), but it was an omake of the manga. You should watch the Fairies Punishment Game OVA too, since that takes place directly after the GMG.

a little fact: that scene between Gray Juvia and frosh is supposed to be a reference to an anime called "Clannad", in season 2 there's a scene where Tomoya (the main character voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura, Gray's VA) is talking with his and Nagisa's (voiced by Mai Nakahara, Juvia's VA) daughter Ushio (voiced by Satomi Korogi , Frosh VA) while they where in a yellow-flower field in the sunset (and if you see the poster behind gruvia and frosh while they were talking...👀👀)

I wouldn’t consider the first episode a filler episode since everything but job they take happened in the manga. The job part is definitely filler but the beginning in Magnolia and the Zerfef/Mavis stuff was all in the manga and is the official ending to the GMG/Future Dragons arc

I really do love Fairy Tail episodes like these. The one where we follow Frosch is actually done a lot in anime with either children or animals. I think they're most likely influenced by actual events where anything from dogs to cats to even a penguin gets sent on daily errands. The funny thing with Frosch, however, that I just realized, is that he would've had an easier time if he'd just flown.
In 201, I don't think Mavis and Zeref are talking to each other. It was just made into a dialogue for dramatic effect. I think it's more of Zeref monologuing and Mavis, knowing that she can't be seen or heard, just watching him/checking in on him, and we see her simply expressing her thoughts about what he's saying.
When you see zeref's backstory you'll get it, it just gets sadder when we learn about mavis.Mavis. Btw the thing with the trees dying he can't really control that.
That Zeref scene is never explained, so it's not a spoiler. You can take it two ways: 1- He has a misterious ability that allowed him to understand Mavis 2- He knew exactly what she was going to say and answered accordingly, even though he couldn't hear what she said.
As early as now I'm saying you that you must watch Fairy Tail Zero after you finish the Tartaros Arc it's a very very very important part of the anime it's a sequel story focusing to Mavis.
This arc is sorta filler sorta not about Maevis and Zeref but its definitely worth the watch, the arc after is insanely good (and very, very dark) though so be prepared for more crying and more fearing for characters lives lol
Honestly, when Sabertooth were taking off their clothes for the pool, Yukino doesn't have the neck strap of her bikini, so what was she wearing before? Animation error. I also love Rogue in the whole episode. He's like a very protective mother. He was one of my favorite characters when I seen how he felt while he was in the old Sabertooth. He didn't laugh when Lucy was being tortured and he wasn't jumping to Minerva's defense when Fairy Tail and Sabertooth were ready to brawl

I think everyone it showed that got hit before the change in time died from the attacks I don't think it was just Grey. Might not have shown Laxus being eaten but its a good bet that's what happened. A lot of animals in the real world such as crocodile's are more then capable of killing a person with there tails so its possible the tail hit Baccus took might have killed him. Lucy Jet and Droy all were surrounded and then attacked by multiple enemy's. with the way Grey was hit its safe to say those blasts from the dragons are equivalent to being hit by a high caliber round like the rounds fired from a sniper rifle.
