I'm learning so much from you, Adam! The more I learn the more I realize how ignorant I was. ugh! PS: I left you a comment on your gift idea video. I don't know about anyone else, but I love a buying guide video.

Thank you for watching Simon! I must of missed that. It's sometimes hard to keep up with comments. I think that sounds like a great idea! I'll start working on those video ideas 😊

Another great video during these lock down times. Stay safe everyone there Adam. P.S. Picked up another 1987 Jag V12 non running ( but in good shape) for 10 years for $390 Canadian. No ignition keys etc 180K .What I learned off you Adam I had it running smoothly in two days and street driving.

If you have a problem with any vehicles timing there is another way. Use a vacuum gauge. Turn the distributor to get the highest reading, then back off a tiny amount then lock it up.

I really like your video I have an 86 xj63 series and it didn't pass smog this time today so I'm kind of upset because the timings really off and I've had it tuned up a couple times I don't think they even bother doing the timing so I'm going to have to go talk to them cuz I saved all the records anyway I appreciate your video so much thank you

Hello Adam, thank you for your content. Timing for a Series III (Australian "Federal" Version with pollution gear) 4.2 L XJ is also 8 deg. BTDC. So, if your version of a Series III engine is the same as an "Australian" car, regardless of running on carb's, timing will be as you have set it at.

Hi Guys, Sorry to moan. The best way to adjust the Jags ignition timing is to first remove No 1 spark plug and measure the top of the piston with a dial gauge so that you can find Top dead centre. The go to the timing mark indicator set that to zero. The timing mark indicator has long slots for you to adjust it. Your ignition timing can be way off. From there whip of the Camshaft covers and check your valve timing is correct as that is adjustable as well. Then move on to your ignition timing and then the carbs. It makes all the difference. Good luck.

I have a problem with my 93 jaguar XJ6. I can’t get it started. It like the points is not working. It’s not getting fire from coil to the distributor

Any ideas why an 85 xj6 would die when put into gear? Idle is set at 850. Recently replaced amplifier and that's when the die in gear situation started. Help Desperate!
