What's interesting is when he said Tupac said dear mama was for all mothers not just Afeni, that's exactly how Afeni would talk about Tupac's murder in interviews. Go back and watch her interviews she always puts the light on all mothers who lost a son versus focusing on Tupac. To me, the sentiment that Tupac had about the song dear mama likely comes from a belief that was instilled in him by his moms.
Yes but 2pac had destain for his mother because of that. What you spoke is the cold truth 2pac used to talk about the revolution being more important than him being her son. I remember seeing interviews after his death and she was very cold about 2pac vs the agenda which i understand both sides but must have been tough for 2pac
As a writer and a artist .. I know what Pac meant .. he was saying the idea for the song was to celebrate Mothers and in that process of writing you use certain aspects of your life but you draw from all your experiences.. for example I wrote a song about a woman but I used the foundation of every woman I’ve ever dated or met to write the song ..well the girl I was dating thought I wrote it for her cause the song had similarities but I honestly wrote it for all the female’s I knew .. but she was do geeked I let her roll wit it .. Dear Mama became about his moms but didn’t start out for his moms either way win win
There is no side this is great that he telling us what black man go Tru after mom's get mad at father's ..and we getting who should be involve whit pack movie
Pac already mentioned he wasn't a gangster but a thug, and he said that thugs are just brothers that fight back. So, his perspective on things was different than how some perceive him. 2pac said this himself. The clip is on TH-cam as well. There is actually 3 videos where Pac says he's not a gangster or he never wanted to be a gangster.
When a son wants to know about his mother who raised him he wants to know the COLD HARD TRUTH about that woman outside of "I'm your mother"...He wants to know the REAL her...

The documentary “Dear Mama” was phenomenal! The director did a brilliant job with interweaving Afeni’s struggle in the Black Panther party and Tupac’s rise as a hip hop revolutionary. It showcased both sides wonderfully. I learned soo much about not only Tupac as a rap legend, but as an artist, activist and human. I literally cried in the end when they spoke of his death. Beautiful portrayal!❤

I had that feeling he felt betrayed and was unappreciated from his mom from that Venice Beach interview but was being careful of what he said. Cuz Alot of us good men that love their mom would do anything for our moms but they always complain, or want more from u like wat u do isn't enough and that will drain u. They will take ur kindness for weakness as if they're a stranger. I'm glad he revealed that cuz I've definitely experienced that from my mother at one point. Doing everything I can just because I love her and appreciate her for being there for me but all I get is a complaint, greed double standards, or unappreciative actions from her
Ppl act like someone as mature as Tupac would actually air out any issues he had with Afeni to the public lol he’s too smart for that cut from a different cloth
I’m the same as you, and she’ll never change claims she loves me and prays for me daily but her actions are void of love and she does the opposite that pushes me away. I’m glad I’m not the only son that feels this way
Thank you for sharing. I will be conscious of this with my sons. Although, I know I love my boys and only want the best for them. I'm a mama bear 😄 I pray my sons grow into a man who appreciates me as their mother only. It's hard work raising them, so I'll just appreciate the respect.
To be honest, I thought his biological father had passed away after all this time before catching these interviews with him. I'm glad he's alive to tell his side of the story. It puts things in perspective and it feels like I'm learning more about Pac in ways I never knew about him before.
Right, people always remind others he was still in his twenties. We see the rappers from his time get old and become more mature. Tupac and Biggie didn't get the opportunity to mature.
That part there just made me weak and tired like honestly, what hes saying there is the basic truth but we too brainwashed and too much into being accepted we dont realise we are simply pet dogs on leashes.
Pac says he rapped the lyrics over the phone to her. That song is about her. Who else did he write those particular lyrics for? He dedicated the song to other Black women but it’s for Afeni.

Lol first off Pac didn’t even write the song on paper. He freestyled the lyrics over the phone to his mom, words from his own mouth, because they came from the heart, because those lyrics are for made for her...He also said once he heard his mother cry afterwards, that’s when he knew he had a hit song and he was right. That’s why I wish more fans would do research and stop listening to what ppl say in interviews.
Respect to Billy Garland but some of the things he says can't be whole truths. Pac made Dear Mama for Afeni. She might have had her flaws but Tupac loved her dearly. Afeni was thankful for the house Pac bought her and he raps about it in Krazy, which was recorded a few weeks before 2Pac got killed, so when did Pac tell Billy that Afeni said the house wasn't enough????
How do you know what can't be true? You weren't there to hear what Pac told this man. Only thing he said about buying her house on krazy was, gave her the keys to her own house, this yo land, your only son done became a man. There's no details in that line..

So this man is saying Tupac being rumored to have been shot in his testicle shouldn't have been brought up in doc because that doesn't have anything to do with anything, but he mentions how Afeni appeared unappreciative of Tupac buying her a house and car. Did that need to be brought up? Prior to this interview,no one ever heard of this, why does this need to be brought up when it can obviously cause a negative outlook towards Afeni

The documentary “Dear Mama” was phenomenal! The director did a brilliant job with interweaving Afeni’s struggle in the Black Panther party and Tupac’s rise as a hip hop revolutionary. Of course. His mom played a part in that separation, but he didn't know the man was alive.
That’s not what this is
I also only watched All Eyez On Me 1 time.. smh.. couldn't do it again
I totally disagree. Dear Mama was dope
Yes it was!!
I wonder if this dude would've been into his 'son' this much if he worked at McDonalds or the local gas station?
Del won’t ask that question though.
That would be a great question cause it’s sounding too much like Delray is kissing his old butt too much lol
Respect to this man❤❤❤❤
Bruh said in 20 different clips that he doesn’t want to talk down on Afeni but does it every clip. His agenda is clear in this interview, he’s treating this as if it’s a Dear Father documentary
Nah, he's simply telling what he knows as his truth!
@@cappriment his truth sounds very bitter
Lol..Yup
@@gtamovies3794I would think you would be bitter to if someone told your child u were dead
Nah.. he’s speaking his piece from his perspective. It needs to be said because this was a part of 2pac’s life many didn’t see.
I love the interviews with Mr Billy keep them coming please ❤🙏
I'm not going to bring up anything. But here I go 🤔😑🙄
Tupac needs a multiple episode type bio flick, like Michael Jackson’s “American Dream” style.
Or new edition story
But theres nobody that could play him. His beautiful look aside, nobody can copy his unique character, mannerism and charisma. Demetrius Ship sounded like a teenager, couldn't even make the Westside sign with his hand.
@@SaraShakur94 its not about looks, tbh. whoever can capture Pac perfectly, would be enough. it should be a Gemini too
@@JaeRocReacts read my second sentence again. Nobody can play him. It would be even easier to play MJ than Pac because of his strong personality
@@SaraShakur94 i read what you said
Legendary interview ✊️🙏👑
How would he know what shaped Pac? He admits he wasn’t around for the majority of his life.
If anything, him not being around is what shaped Pac.. 😩
@@MitchellelOfGH So you think the only thing that Shaped this man outlook on life was his deadbeat father?? 😩😩😒
@@Nikki-kh8tt The ONLY thing, no. But it’s the underlying cause of A LOT of things..
Billy Garland: Things about Afeni that im not gonna say now... (Then proceeds to speak bad about her😂🤣😂) Billy, i see the snake in you all the way. I really can't listen to this man.
Maaan!!! They been deleted all my comments exposing this fraud!! I can read right through his snake scaly skin. He speaks like he was really in pac life and knew him when he barely even new Pac for two years. He got two pictures of him and Pac when Pac was in Prison thats it!! When Pac got out he wasn’t messin with this man like that. He was open to it but he was taking it with a grain a salt because as Pac said out of his own mouth, this man just popped up out of nowhere. Jasmine Guy said it, and Afeni said it. He waited 23 years to pop up in pac life when he was one bullet away from a flatline. Come on now.
4:05 facial expression is totally 2pac...
I'm sorry he comes accross a lil bitter the doc is called dear mama so clearly is predominantly about afeni if he felt so passionate then HE should do a doc about pac too... Like geez 🙄
Very bitter.
Why didnt you do any interviews when afeni was alive?? Because she would call you out
They’ve been deleted all my comments exposing the same facts. They are trying to tear Afeni down. This man is a straight up fraud! All I see is envy in his heart towards a Afeni because Pac was HER son and not HIS!! No matter the DNA, this man is butt hurt that the court did not rule in his favor for half of Pac estate and he chose the best time and platform to try to tear her down and dem her light because she was far too powerful when she was alive. Pac would never allow this! He barely even knew this man. He popped up 23 years later out of nowhere and in that last two years of his life the only thing this man can show you was two pictures of him and pac from when Pac was in prison.
At this point I’m sick of him trying to talk down on his son’s mother. If he really wanted to find his son he could have. Tupac was always vocal on the radio and tv .. It wasn’t hard to find him. He waited until his son was shot the first time to show up. By his on admission he was struggling with addiction. So did Afeni keep you away or did your addiction assist you in not caring enough to try. Let her rest in peace. That was his mother and regardless of their relationship.. he loved her.
🎯🎯🎯🎯
Facts
🤣 truth hurts and all of them was puppets for the gov
THIS THE ONE....
Actually Billy isn’t lying at 3:09 any real PAC fan knows Afeni said the same thing in an interview, BUT Mr. Garland is being shady with the “I let her run with it” I’m not fully sure if PAC would say that 😂💀
Yeah but he references her and had later said it was a love letter to his mother watch him with bill bellamy
Hey when your mother told you that your father was dead and then when you find out 15 years later that he was never dead and has been looking for you this whole time who knows what he told him because I'm pretty sure he's semi angry with his mother for lying to him his whole life
Any real Pac fan knows he loved his mother. Get real.
All thanks to Afeni. She made 2pac all the credits goes to her she raises 2pac the way she could and most importantly she taught him alot
MTV interview after Pac got out he said he wasnt feeling him like this in his own words..look at the interview he said he dont see a reason to get close to him
That's just him being mad that he didn't know his father for all these years
He did Not say that at all. He actually said he found out some things that’s not to be discussed to the media about his mother. He wasn’t about to blast his mom after his biggest song Dear Mama is blowing up airwaves. He said he got over the father thing which is understandable but not truly believable. Just a 24 year old attempting to be strong and put the hurt behind him.
Exactly he said it was no point. He also said that his mother was the worlds best mom.
Pac said ain’t no women alive that can take his mothers place. There’s only one Afeni. He didn’t even write the lyrics on paper, because he actually rapped them to Afeni. Billy needs to get real.
This dude is horrible. How you going to be a absent parent and bash the parent that stayed and struggled. And blk men praising this nonsense smh. This so evil and toxic.
0:22 It's Dear Mama.......& he was talking about Leggs.....1:15 😭🤣😭 Spazz'r....... 2:41 Billy should do a Pac doc.......
No matter how much he tries to bash Afeni, he can never take away the love Pac had for his mother. He needs to talk about his own flaws and stop pointing the finger at others.
He not bashing her but she played him with his son. That’s 2pac father he hurt you know.
Fuck you mean? He never once tried to bash Afeni. He only expressed his feelings from her lying to his son about him being dead. The man found his son after 15 years on a damn movie poster and when he reunited with him Pac was laying in a hospital bed with five bullet holes in him! Mr. Garland is only repeating what his son told him from years of growing up with only his mother and he wanted answers. That doesn't take away of how Pac felt about his mother but when you lie about his father being alive of course your song going to be called "Dear Mama". Imagine what Pac could have written about his father that could have had an influence on black father's and their sons.
@@Kenben7414He needs to keep Afeni name out of his mouth. End of story.
@@Kenben7414She did not play him he chose to leave that's the part he won't come right out and say. When he left she continued to live her life what else was she supposed to do?
@@DarkandlovelyLovelyHe’s not bashing her.
Pac favors his father. ❤
Pac enjoyed helping the women in his family. His aunty Gloria said that Pac always bought her food to cook because he loved her chicken and potatoe salad. His cousin Jamala also said that he wanted them living in his home. They all living in his mansion during 96. He clearly wanted them there, especially his mom and sister.
Erm Afeni wasn't as nice as you think
@@woah5985 Pac said his mother was a good women, so I believe him, because he was actually raised by his mother. He knew her. End of discussion.
@@DarkandlovelyLovely you're talking about what PAC said before his final year and months alive. He saw her true face. She was snakey. Tupac would be alive if it wasn't for her. And nope not end of discussion. Learn to be mature about things k : )
@@woah5985nd to think Afeni kept calling Billy a sperm donor publicly and said he was dead on PAC’s death certificate. Why did he lie to her son about him being alive? Billy hasn’t bad mouth this woman at all. All he doing is telling his side of the story.
@@bradleycampbell245She never told Tupac Garland was dead the man he knew as his father died in prison not that he was a better father but that's who he was talking about and she put he was dead on his death certificate because he came out of nowhere tryna sue his estate for money he doesn't deserve. He chose to walk out of his life and now he wants to try to get some money out of him after he dies how is that right? If Tupac wanted to give him money he would have. Did you notice Tupac never spent any time with him after he came out of prison? More than likely Tupac used him to get through his prison stint like he did that girl he married before dating Kidada
I live tupac dad i am going to meet this man in person..its the closses i get to meet pac
I’m with this dude 100%
Great interview Pac’s pop💯💯💯
Mrs. Afeni didn’t even co-sign AEOM and then she passed away
Afeni was a HUGE influence that helped mold Tupac into the way he was. And the doc literally focused on both Afeni and Pac because the theme was obviously showing the parallels between both of their lives and how their stories intertwined to show how powerful this mother/son duo. Ain’t no Pac without Afeni so tf is he talking about when he said they “elevated” her? I don’t remember any other doc focusing on Afeni through the lens of her son and vice versa, and definitely not one that just focused on her. The one time they do focus on her, there’s a problem? Lol. I still don’t like allen hughes and I have hella gripes with some of the unnecessary bullshit he added in that documentary to try to get his slick lick back and taint Pac’s legacy, but the ONE thing i’ll give him credit for is highlighting Afeni’s story and where Pac got his strength, knowledge, and LIFE from. Though she was far from perfect, the man literally said she was his hero.
To a point
Never trust someone who tells everyone else’s flaws, but refuses to tell their own.
He spoke on his mishaps also in some of these interviews
@@MichOfg1123 He didn’t spill any hard tea about himself at all or own up to his mistakes.
Weirdo, everyone been talking about his flaws for years. Let that man talk dark and hideous
He tells it and then adds in lies to make his faults not look as bad lol
Literally spent half of the interview revealing his flaws tf u talking about.
How many of these clips are there now, 10? And Billy has shit on Afeni in every single one of them. Every time he says, “I probably shouldn’t say this…” He’s going to shit on her.
Every time he says, “I don’t want to disparage her…”
He does.

This man goes on and on about how Afeni was bad mother to Tupac, after all she stayed by his side he was gone now he wants to be a hero?. Bad mouthing Afeni does not deflect from the harsh truth of him not being there for his Son!!.Shame on Billy for blaming it all on Afeni after her being death for over 7 years😮
They keep deleting all my comment exposing this fraud. Im surprised yours is still up. Smh
This was my comment
The Movie was called “Dear Mama” , Produced as a a tribute To Afeni Shakur. We have a million Documentaries on Pac. This one wasn’t solely about him. It was about his Mother! This man is throwing so much shade at Afeni! Afeni could care a less about material possessions so it’s very hard for me to find that to be true. If Pac was alive do you really think he will let this man say these things about his mother? Afeni was a activist and was for her people. She fought for what was her sons and used that money to create a foundation in his honor and name. This man has so much Enevy against this woman because her light was so bright in the flesh, the only way he can dim it is in her death. This truly breaks my heart reading all these comments. Pac never ever spoke bad on his mother and as Pac fans This is what you guys allow? I get it, yall want some sort a piece of Pac but this is not it.
