People deal with death different afeni was being uplifting and strong like the woman she is and it's important to be in the right mindset moving on...I also like how she got on top of her son buisness affairs and got things in order I think any son would be proud of that

There’s an interview that I believe Tupac’s aunt (Afeni’s sister) granted a few years ago, where she talks about the days leading up to Tupac’s death in the hospital. She said that the doctor came in to talk to Afeni about what they were doing to help Tupac and the doctor told her that they had to resuscitate him several times and that he, Tupac, was fighting them when they would do it. His Aunt stated that is when Afeni made the decision that if that happened again to just allow him to go in peace. I believe also Afeni spoke on this right after his death as well but not in as much detail as the Aunt. She said something so beautiful (I’m paraphrasing here) that he was such a free spirit in life that she wanted to let him go and she would rejoice in his spirit. I think this is why Reggie may have observed her as being calm and peaceful right after he passed.

In my mother's final months of living I was her primary caretaker. When she eventually succumbed to her illness I haven't shed a year. Some praised me with admiration at her homegoing for strength. Some presume I'm supressing my emotions. The reality is I watched an Independent woman getting taken to the hospital one day because she could no longer bear her weight. To never walking again. Accompanied with our countless trips to the emergency room to control both high and low blood pressure issues, in the 8 months prior to her death. Her suffering no longer was in charge of her existence. She truly is in a better place.

Ms. Afeni Shakur said in an interview I quote, “ that after Tupac passed away that she was going to let the record company handle his business, but Jasmine Guy and Jada Pinkett at the time told her no, you need to lawyer up and handle your sons business yourself” I distinctly remember her saying that in an interview. We gotta remember, she came from the 60’s and the 70’s she had to be strong. If you listen to her interviews she will tell you that she knew that her son was at peace. We not going to sit here and make it seem like she was all about the money, that’s straight disrespectful. She could have been furious on the inside, but putting the best on the outside going up against the industry. She also broke a lot of barriers in the music industry in court fighting for fellow artist to have rights and be able to get some of the things that they are able to do on today. Also, thank you Mr. Reggie Wright for helping to keep Tupac’s LEGACY alive for fans like myself, thank you!
