Yeah, D killed one of them. The most interesting thing about that was D's reaction to it. That stood out to me.

@@Phantom_Izuku yeah D has some to simply put, respect for his opponents at least. Vastly different than his own kind, even though he no longer sides with either monsters or humans

    Supplementary info/manga changes
6:26 - Back in Episode 1, the Dusters mention that they made a lion 7 years ago, so D was that fake Executive. 15:30 - Anime original scene of Dairyu’s first appearance as the JFR (acting) and Red being the worst. A certain scene was likely moved to next Season, so they can have it be a complete scene. In the manga, they showed the colorless rookies (Yamato specifically) had to say on TV that an invader killed Ishikawa and had to keep quiet about Peltrola. 19:36 - Another anime original scene of a Red member talking to someone and foreshadowing hype stuff and one more with a hooded figure listening to the radio.
The prologue is over and now the real fight begins (the official Twitter for the anime even says that ‘the real action begins now’) next year. Bailong arc is considered the lowest part of the series (the arc is really long in the manga and a majority of the fanbase wanted it to be condensed, even on the JP side and the JP side wanted a bit more focus on D, to sympathize with him more) and it’s only up from here. Hoping you eventually do reviews or content on Sentai Daishikkaku’s manga after cour 2 or so, since after that arc, the manga gets even crazier/a lot of inside jokes/memes are there. 22:50 - They adapted up to ch. 51, but not the last few pages and will probably be around the start of cour 2. 24:30 - Just a slight clarification, is that Tokita was given the cartridge from the Divine Artifact and is using a Replica (the gun) and Suzukiri still has the Divine Artifact (Yamata no Orochi was used on F and Tokita’s said Yamata no Orochi, when the 4 JFRs invoked their Replicas.)

I’ve absolutely loved your reactions and reviews to this series!! I’m glad to hear that you might end up checking out the manga because I couldn’t recommend it enough. While I don’t hate the adaptation, they were definitely being ambitious with trying to cover 50 chapters in 12 episodes. Going forward, however, the arcs should be easier to adapt in their entirety, so I have faith in the next season!
I won’t go too deep into what they missed in the anime nor the specific chapters as I noticed another commenter did a fantastic job at that already, but Ranger Reject is such a unique experience to read. The way the author tells the story is so great, and it works as a really interesting mystery with so many wild twists. You’d be surprised at how many small details end up being major to understanding what the hell is going on later 😭. Personally, I feel the heart of the manga is with its characters. The character’s are phenomenally well-written. Everyone feels so….real? With varying motivations and goals. You really get attached to every character, even some of the one’s you hate. You never know who to root for as the situation is ever-evolving. I’ll try to be vague so as not to spoil anything haha but strap in for a lot of theorizing because this manga doesn’t like to give you all the answers at once, which is what I love about it.
This is why I was particularly disappointed with some of the cuts this season. So many moments with the other cadets were just removed, and it ended up making the “big” moments of this arc hit way less. Overall, it was hard to get attached to some of the characters. The studio probably wanted to get to the more “exciting” arcs faster because what they did cover was pretty much just the exposition. However, by doing so they made what was originally a very strong foundation for the story very weak. Though, I do think they did Blue Keeper and his story pretty well.
If you do read the manga, be prepared for an absolutely bonkers ride! I’m super stoked for the next season since it’s covering one of my favorite arcs and we’ll get to see our main cast become more solidified. I’m really glad you enjoyed the series overall !! 💖 Would love to hear your thoughts on the manga if you decide to pick it up!

@@pookie-lu6939 I can completely understand where it might be frustrating for manga readers to see where their favorite work gets kind of butchered in a way because the staff and the director wants to make certain cuts to fit in a certain time frame. That's why I always tell manga readers for the most part to not spoil because I want those who are only watching the anime at the time to experience it for what it's worth and then if they want to read the manga once they reach the last episode and the readers can tell anime only watchers what chapter the anime last adapted from. In regards to if I'm going to upload anything regarding the manga, I'll give it a little bit more thought but I'm going to read it from the very beginning so I can see the differences between both the anime and the manga versions.

@@Kimisdomain01 I agree! I feel like when manga readers doom post early on, it turns off anime-only viewers. I’m incredibly grateful for the adaptation regardless. I’m glad it’s still enjoyable and tells the story effectively enough to garner engagement. Plus, it was nice to see the story come to life 💖

Spoiler. Idk Im right but im not sure D has killed anyone yet. I believe the ranger D was his first kill even though he was blasted thru the neck so he was bound to die. I felt like somewhere inside him he was still thinking it was a play fight with no serious consequences. He seemed sad he was going to die. Unless he was sad he didnt personally kill blue ranger himself.

    Manga reader here!
The anime ended on chapter 50 of the manga, but I really cannot recommend enough going back over particularly the Hekiru fight (starting around chapter 6-7) and Bailong (Chapter 13-50) just to see the massive amounts of character work that were skipped! The weight of those moments also hangs a lot heavier so it's worthwhile to read it with a careful eye.
Secondly, Hibiki's face is like that because when he got "beaten" by Hekiru, his face was doused in acid, which was a detail that was not made very clear in the anime (and not helped by the "pink face" that we saw which wasnt in the manga)
I am very excited for Season 2, despite my criticisms of Season 1, because season 2 will be covering one of my personal favourite arcs, one with a lot of character development, politics, and intense drama. It also sets up the next phase of the story so well, and introduces (and develops) a lot of characters that we love in the manga fandom. Can't wait to see anime fans get to see it, and as I've said before, hope you enjoy the manga! Would definitely love to see your thoughts on that as well!

@@YesThatVee now I definitely have to read the manga if so much was cut. Cause I didnt even know for instance Hibiki was burned in the face from the acid. It also would help to see the internal and external struggles the characters go through which is more thoroughly written out in the manga than it was in the anime. So I will definitely hop on to reading the manga as soon as possible for sure

@@Kimisdomain01 There's a lot, LOT of internal struggle and the like that are neglected in the anime - Kurusu Yamato for example, his entire backstory was cut-out so he ends up just coming off exceptionally shallow. Similarly, Ishikawa and Hisui's connection is fleshed out and dealt with a lot more, not just something to be thrown into a few quick flashbacks as we saw in episode 12!

To be fair, the pink face is fine, because burns aren’t that bad at first, but get worse over time if not properly treated and Hibiki’s was not treated properly, so it’s accurate. Also, it adapted up to chapter 51, but not the last few pages.
Edited - for the second comment in more detail below.
Ishikawa’s scene is likely saved for cour 2, so it’ll be 1 entire scene and so viewers don’t forget.
