I put up 399,110 points on the Baby Pac-Man at Pinball PA last night, the high score on that machine is 710,060. There is NO pattern to the ghosts, that is what makes it the hardest Pac-Man game and why I love it so much. The RED ghost is the ONLY one that is faster than Baby Pac, but don't give up hope if he is on your tail because he has a habit of giving up all of a sudden for no reason if you can out run him long enough. All of the other ghosts are the exact same speed as Baby-Pac and don't ever give up, but you can out run them forever and just keep picking up fruits until you decide to clear the level or die, just be very precise and deliberate with the joystick. Thank you for making the video and restoring these classic machines.
Thanks John. Yes for the 'long term' player who's wanting one for their house, or frequently plays or just wants something 'tough' this is definitely a good one because the ghosts do not relent. It seems to me that you have to play it more 'daring', you have to head right for them then duck in the tunnel next to them, etc. instead of trying to run from them, I'll try your tips and see if I can get my score up, I'm nowhere near 399k LOL
Do you know if the individual ghosts have unique ai like in the original Pac-Man? Or is it that only the red one is unique and the other three behave the same
I remember my mom giving me a quarter to play this game when I was a kid. I also remember it was one of the fastest quarters I ever lost haha. I'd own one for home use though, such a unique game from a great time in gaming history. Thanks for restoring it. Older video, but I searched for more videos of you working on this one but didn't find any.
These videos are walking me back to my early teens in the 80s. I actually played more of the Granny and the Gators combo pin than I did of the Baby Pac in the local pool hall. The place was a little sketchy for kids but they always seemed to get the latest greatest arcade machines.
Such a cool and strange bastard of a game, thanks for showing me this Joe! I've been binging through a lot of your videos during this quarantine and can't get enough.
Agreed! Namco should get 1UP do make I replica so it can be available to those who can’t afford the original one! If they don’t, then just make a modded version to include regular PAC-Man instead of Baby PAC-Man. This hybrid deserves a second wind!
well you just replicated my childhood experience with this game… Every time I played it, I sucked at the pinball part and pretty much died within a few minutes. So thanks for the memories LOL
Hard to find in good working condition. Very few arcades carried them. Any time I saw one working, I would play it. I mean you had to cause some many were broken. Very underrated.
I played that game back then in 82 when I was a kid. A local Brooklyn Bagels shop I lived near back then always had two arcade games inside. That game being one of them at the time. I was there almost every day to play the arcade games.
I love this machine. I remember first seeing it and it blowing my mind. A pinball and arcade game in one????!!! Also, I think Midway did this without Namco’s authorization and the Namco revoked their license of rights. I’m foggy on it though.
@@LyonsArcade Jr. Pac Man was the last game Midway made before Namco switched to Atari to distribute their games in NA (Namco was already distributing Atari's games in Japan as well)
Loved this game. It came out when I was 10. In all the arcades I was in from Connecticut to Atlantic City New Jersey I only seen one. COOL GAME!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing JOE!!!!!!!!
This is a very unique game. I may have seen these back in the 80s but do not recall playing one of them. This would definitely be one to add in a personal arcade collection. I wonder how many of these are still in existence; especially in working condition. This is one I would love to see the inside workings; especially since the back panel is not the standard back board that a regular pinball game uses. The audio on the game was clear but didn't see any speakers when you showed close ups of the game. They must have hidden the speakers somewhere either on the bottom or on the top somewhere in the marque. If you do get another one; I would love to see the inside and the process of getting the two sections working together. Superior video.
Gary I own 1 more of these in storage, eventually I will bring it in and I promise I'm going to do an entire series of videos on repairing it, it's such an interesting game and very complex inside, fun to mess with. I'll see you then!

Yup... they did it illegally, but a similar thing happened when Nintendo made Super Mario Brothers 2, they used a game already made and later on just adopted the characters into all the new games!
The main maze game point values are multiplied by ten; each pac dots are worth a hundred, the flashing dot is worth five hundred, blue ghosts are worth two grand, four grand, eight grand, then sixteen grand (grand is a slang term for a thousand).
A free-play arcade in my city has one of these. Sadly it's not in perfect condition. The ball frequently gets stuck somewhere, essentially leaving the game softlocked until a member of staff comes by to power-cycle it!
Uses the standard Bally -35 MPU but has a separate board called the "Vidiot" (not making that up) which has a 6809 processor and a TMS9928 to generate the video.
Do the green and purple ghosts have names? I doubt that's Funky or Orson (neither of which existed yet) and Sue (who appeared in Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Land and Pac-Mania and was originally orange, replacing Clyde)
Now THAT would be cool if possible! I've got the Ultimate Legends upright cabinet but would actually buy the pinball cabinet IF a version of this game could be played on it!
just got a very derelict one of these along with an equally bad. Granny and the Gators.. I think 6 months from now I'll have them both up and running and look decent.
Does anyone happen to know the approximate weight of one of the cabinets? And if you had to transport one 350 miles in the back of a pickup, would it be best done laying down on its back, a side, or standing up? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer and thank you for all you do to restore these classic machines and the great videos you make of doing it.
Hi Jeff! I would guess it's around 250 pounds... when we move one we lay them down on their back, mainly so they stay in place and don't try to fall out of the truck. We have a truck with a liftgate and a rack to strap it too so it's easy for us to move them upright, but laying them down is fine. Before you do make sure you look inside to make sure nothing will bounce around loose and hit the neck of the monitor in transit, then when you get it home open it up again and make sure everything's in place (check the neck board to see if it slid off).
@@LyonsArcade Thank you very much for the quick and detailed reply. If I pull the trigger and decide to pick the machine up this week, I will keep all that in mind.
Hey Joe, thanks for all the awesome content I love the channel and am learning a lot, I was wondering if I can pick your brain a little bit, my baby pac will light up the playfield when it shouldn’t be during game play, only when using both flippers by any chance would you know what would cause that I can’t find anything grounding yet? Mark
IF ANYONE STILL OUT THERE WAS THERE NOT A VERSION WHERE THE PINBALL PART WAS WHERE THE VIDEO WAS? YOU PLAYED VERTICAL PINBALL? I DONT KNOW WHY IM THINKING OF THIS...
Looks like Bally created a game to eat quarters instead of pellets and energizers. Greed sold so few. Players most likely felt ripped off. How about earning fruits instead of energizers on pinball section? How did Arcade owners fair with this game. Did they make more money on Baby Pacman than Pacman or Ms. Pacman?
7000? that's it? How many did Jr Pacman sell, 7? This was way more common in my area. All the kids pizza arcades had multiples of this. One place had Jr.
Not sure how many Jr. Sold... 7000 is a lot for a Pinball. If you think about it, that's like 130 or so a state... and they all came out at once... so if you live in a big city, there might be 10 or 15 in the city. The best selling pinball ever was Addams Family and it only sold 21,000....
Having baby Pac riding in a stroller that’s a giant head of their Dad is kinda creepy. Imagine a human baby riding in a giant gaping mouth of a male human head.
4:58 Pac-Baby's gender is a little inconsistent. Throughout the 80s, he was a boy, but starting with 1994's Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures, they made her a girl. Because all the 80s Pac-Man media depicted Pac-Baby as an only child, Pac-Baby's lack of appearance in Jr. Pac-Man, and the game she was first depicted as a girl in the was also the first game that had both Pac-Jr. and Pac-Baby appear in, I like to imagine that the 80s Pac-Baby got older and became Pac-Jr., and then Mr. and Ms. Pac-Man had a second kid, who is a girl.
I put up 399,110 points on the Baby Pac-Man at Pinball PA last night, the high score on that machine is 710,060. Joe's Classic Video Games probably because they made the ghosts move so damn fast
se puede comprar el juego??
lo siento, ya lo hemos vendido.
2:26 Except they were ripping Namco off lol

Nice game two in one 😎👍
Lunar landing was a good game I was never going to defend her or Stargate or tempest
My dad had one of those in his Shop
IF ANYONE STILL OUT THERE WAS THERE NOT A VERSION WHERE THE PINBALL PART WAS WHERE THE VIDEO WAS? YOU PLAYED VERTICAL PINBALL? I DONT KNOW WHY IM THINKING OF THIS...
If i had the money and it was for sale i would buy this! This was my favorite game as a child. How much do they cost to buy?
They are getting crazy expensive, they're probably worth over a couple grand now.

LOL
Looks like Bally created a game to eat quarters instead of pellets and energizers. Greed sold so few. Players most likely felt ripped off. How about earning fruits instead of energizers on pinball section? How did Arcade owners fair with this game. Did they make more money on Baby Pacman than Pacman or Ms. Pacman?
It never would have earned anything like the mighty Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man, I doubt it made much money.
My god dude, what did one of these sell for compared to other machines?
The best selling pinball ever was Addams Family and it only sold 21,000....
who coul be this RON person, he has the highest score. maybe he is the chosen one to defeat all pac players of the world.
I heard he's really good looking
To start the game is it free?
Yes, it's set on freeplay, just hit start!
Having baby Pac riding in a stroller that’s a giant head of their Dad is kinda creepy. Imagine a human baby riding in a giant gaping mouth of a male human head.
Baby Pacman is SO difficult. Ack!
Do you sell the games?
We do, but unfortunately we don't have this one in anymore, we sold it soon after we made this video...
they got a 20 pack of 555's on ebay for $8.95. for sure they're not eiko.
Good old Eiko :)
@@LyonsArcade, every single bulb in that baby pac-man i had was out. had to order them from marco for $32 lol.
You think somebody sent a voltage somewhere it shouldn't and fried them, or just had never touched it?
@@LyonsArcade, the bulbs had the tungsten all inside of the glass so they probably had alot of hours on them.
Thank you for the breakdown Jackie-XKH!
16:41 Gameplay Began
I doubt I wasted more than a dollar on this game back in the 80s. It was too hard for me.
I just got one word. CA Robinson
