I had read the novelization of Star Trek The Motion Picture a few years ago, which drew me to your first video. Great review! Now I think I'll read the others, thanks to you! Your comic books look great too :)
So glad you’re doing more Star Trek novel reviews.
I’ve always thought that in Undiscovered Country the new character Kim Cattrall plays should have been Saavek instead. It makes much more sense for that character to hate Klingons.
I think it was Saavik in the original draft. Going from memory of what I've read, Leonard Nimoy wanted it to be Saavik. Nicholas Meyer really loved working with Kirstie Alley and wanted her in the movie, but she was too busy with "Cheers." And Meyer said that he'd only have Saavik in the movie if it could be Alley. Once Alley was out, the character had to be rewritten to be someone new. Thus Valeris was born.
@@MrDooteronomy That was a pretty dumb stance, Alley was better sure but the actress that replaced her was good too.
@@tremblingcolorsI could be wrong but I thought it was offered to robin curtis and she declined because she didn’t like the character turning traitor
I would love getting your guy’s take on the Star Trek (TNG) X-men crossover novel “Planet X!”
