Can't forget his 2 signature lines.
"What's the matter with you"?
"What, are you stupid or what"?
Well, he is really good at sternly getting after people for their fuck ups. I wouldn’t be surprised. 😂

RIP Ray Liotta. Hell of an actor
this dog is killing me every time wenn it stands on his back legs haahhah love it
When Ray passed a couple weeks ago it hit me really really hard and I'm afraid I made it personal: when we were young, it was mine and my sister's favorite movie; we used to quote it at each other all the time. "Hmm, an aristocrat!" "To-DAY. To-DAY. To-DAY." "Get your shinebox!" Paid a little visit to her grave, got a sixer of Bud, and drank it all while re-watching this movie for the 100th time. RIP Ray Liotta. And A.W., too.
Much love to you and the memory of your sibling. When I or my sister dies, the other one is going to be the keeper of alllllll the quotes from Strange Brew.
"They'll put you in the oven and call you 'Biscuit' " 😂

She goes on her knees, there's a little pause and then "I would give her more money" 😂😂😂😂😂
That pause and stare is what makes it. Had me dying in the editing. LoL

Henry and Karen's daughters when they were little and going to the prison with Karen were Lorraine Bracco's real life daughters. One of them is Stella Keitel, whose father is Harvey Keitel. The prosecutor who was offering Henry and Karen the witness protection deal was the same prosecutor who offered that deal to Henry Hill in real life, playing himself in the movie.
He does that in casino too with Tommy's lawyer being the actual lawyer of the person that character is based on and they even recreate the shot that was broadcast on the news of him leaving the court house with the lawyer whole reporters are chasing him down
@@TheGoodChap You and Paul know too much about the movie industry, lol!
Oh wow!! I love the trivia! Harvey Keitel is one of my favorite actors as well. Thank you for the fun fact!👍🏻
I didn't know that, and this is my favorite movie, thanks.
In the book Wiseguy "goodfellas book" they go a little further and talk about the Boston College Basketball point shaving scheme they had going on with a few players, and the prosecutor had gone to the same college at the same time on the same team and knew nothing about it. He came across the table at Henry almost hitting him in disbelief. Wish they had included that in the film but probably would of made the movie over 3 hours long
1:03 the way the dog dissappears cracks me up 🐶💭

Great video!
Lol Spider shouldn’t have came back to work
The reason for all the Peters, Pauls, and Maries at the wedding is because the Italian mob was all Roman Catholic, so they would name all their kids after the saints.
The biggest surprise was there was no Tony’s or Frank’s.
Little history fact. The reason Tommy's mother couldn't give him an open coffin was because there wasn't anything in the coffin to begin with. To this day his body has never been found.

I laughed so hard at the "he gonna beat the alligator off your shirt" lol Also, it's funny you mentioned Pesci in Home Alone, he chose to do that specifically because he never gets to work for the kids. He really liked the script too, and was friends with the guy that played Marv.

You could tell Joe had a BLAST in Home Alone.

"As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a gangster."
RIP Ray Liotta.
Fun Fact: Al Pacino was offered the role of Jimmy Conway. He turned it down due to fears of typecasting. The same year, Pacino ended up playing an even more stereotyped gangster, Big Boy Caprice, in Dick Tracy (1990). He admits regretting the decision.
Bonus Fact: According to Ray Liotta, Martin Scorsese was so involved in every detail of the cast's wardrobe that he tied Liotta's tie himself to make sure it was accurate for the film's setting.
Historical Fact: According to Henry Hill, whose life was the basis for the book and film, Joe Pesci's portrayal of Tommy DeSimone was 90-99% accurate, with one notable exception; the real Tommy DeSimone was massively built.
These facts have been brought to you by Gator
JL ...You're welcome! Unfortunately, I have to bug out. Won't be here for the premier. Have fun!
lame line,lame character
Fun fact: The lady who played Tommy's mum is actually Martin Scorsese's mum.
That scene brings back such vivid memories of my aunt Dot. She had the same kind of house, wore the same kind of house dress, cooked for everyone. I would feel right at home in that scene.
Also, the scene where all the guys are in Pauly’s yard, eating sausage sandwiches. Very familiar.
Vinnie “too many onions” was his father Charles Scorsese.

@@EOMReacts the Actress who played Tommy’s mother is Martin Scorsese’s actual mother, Catherine Scorcese. She is also in a few of his other films. Great reaction, keep em coming. Casino is another excellent Scorcese film based on actual events of the mob in Las Vegas.
He does that for each video and it always cracks me up the first time I see it and see what he chose lol
At first, I was trying to pause the video on my handheld device but couldn’t get it to stop it on it. Too small to see plus it has been awhile since I’ve watched the movie. Then, the scene comes up and I slap my forehead. I do wish he had used the Dapper Dan can on O Brother, Where Art Thou? instead of the FOP can, but I’m guessing he used FOP because Everett was using foul language at the time the store owner only had FOP.
My man the way your beautiful dog sits at the start had me rolling on the floor 😂🤣. What a character
“I’d moonwalk my ass over there”. That was so funny. You crack me up

@@nathanielhorrigan9085 casino is definitely on the list and welcome to the family
That joke about Pesci in a kids movie had me laughing. In real life, they had trouble shooting that movie cuz he kept dropping the F bomb when he wasn't supposed to. He couldn't help it and they had to keep redoing those scenes.
Lol I would love to see the behind the scenes on that
I never heard that, that's HILARIOUS! AHHAHAHAHAHAHA. Right on, Joe! That is so freaking funny, I had no idea. :D (Man, he is fantastic in "The Irishman", I'm so happy he got to play a different type of character in that one).
When this came out it had the most profanity of any movie ever, most of which came from Joe Pesci. Now it’s number 15 or something.
My grandmother was almost IDENTICAL to Tommy's mother....it's crazy. Pure Italian. 😂 (It's actually Martin Scorcese's mom)
In real life Paulie was actually sleeping with Henry's wife.
I think the more accurate description is that he was extorting her for sex.
Henry didn't get killed. He died years later after years of alcoholism and drug addiction.
The dog on 2 feets got me.
Lol he does that anytime he wants something. He does say hello like that too
Around 3:30 the late, great Tony Serico (Paulie Gaultieri) has a small role (the guys young Henry sees getting out of the car that Henry aspires to be)
Also the guy on the right that puts the mailman in oven
The cat I learned to cook from (I'm a chef) owned a joint in NOLA that some of these actual guys ate at regularly back in the late 70's. They loved him for his food (and...maybe cause he was half Sicilian). The only problem he ever had with the goodfellas was when they found out he bought a Mercedes, which pissed them off. He returned it the next day and got a Caddy.
Mercedes? I don't get it. If they were pissed off at him for buying an import, I'd trade in the Mercedes for an Alfa Romeo. Let them try being mad at an Italian car.
@@keithmays8076 What can I say, it's what happened...don't necessarily make sense. I met more than a few wise guys back in the day (I've got lots more stories) and I gotta say...Tommy and Doc, for example, were Made Men that I knew...and jimminy: they were about as smart as a box of hammers and nowhere near as useful.
@@keithmays8076 Here's a whopper. Met a very old, famous mob-fella 20+ years ago (name?). He told me he put the money into Lee Harvey Oswald's hands to shoot at Kennedy. "Yeah...he shot _at_ him. Yes, I love it when Romulus stands up, and his expression cracks me up (it's reminds me of Bela Lugosi's Dracula stare haha)! Great reaction channel, by the way…I like the style, very matter-of-fact and deadpan (even when the movie’s playing a crazy scene)…

Some of this movie was filmed in my Hometown in New Rochelle, New York. Although I was a kid I do remember when they filmed. As far as “Billy Bats” goes he was a made guy (Basically Untouchable) You would need a good reason, and permission from the Boss otherwise you’re DEAD! 💀😂 Great stuff man! 👊

Good review. Cool dog just tell it to stop flashing me. LOL!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have never thought of it like that
The scene where they go through the restaurant kitchen to the stage is a marvel. It is one continuous shot! Very ground breaking for that time. Steadicam's being used to their limit.
Only move that does it bigger or better imo is boogie nights, the opening shot of that movie is on TH-cam and legitimately feels like an attempt at one upping Scorsese with one take shots, in sure pta is a huge fan but it's just so much excess like starting from a crane to steady cam and one shot goes into a pool and follows a swimmer during the party scene
@@TheGoodChap Orson Welles did it first in the film "Touch of Evil" the opening scene runs 3 1/2 Minutes uncut.
Rip Ray Liotta. A true legend and one of the greatest actors
@Extraordinarily Ordinary Media I watch former mobster Michael Franzese he says that the real life story of this is that the reason Henry also switched out on paulie is because paulie was sleeping with his wife & was gonna attempt to kill Henry. Not sure if Jimmy & paulie were in kahoots to kill Henry, but it more than likely was since Jimmy was trying to kill Henry's wife.
Just a little trivia: the little old lady who played Tommy's mom is actually Martin Scorcese's mother. She also has an appearance in Casino playing another gangster's mother. I would guess all of her lines are completely unwritten; just improvised.
Regarding your intro: 1.) Your dog is FANTASTIC. 2.) I'm actually not surprised your mom loved it! My mom loved it, too! And my aunts love it, too, they're big mob movie fans! My buddy has a girlfriend in her early 30s and even SHE loves it.....which shocked me! / GREAT reaction!!!! One of the best "Goodfellas" reactions!!!! Now, after a break, when you're ready for more of this, you have to see "Casino" which is basically "Goodfellas Goes To Vegas"! Again: De Niro, Pesci and Scorsese. Almost as good (some like it better, most like it less, virtually everyone considers the two movies matching set!).
Casino will 110% be done. It’ll be done regardless but it’ll be in the “Crime movies” poll on our patreon in a free weeks, so it may end up being done sooner rather than later.
Appreciate the support!
@@EOMReacts Nice!!!! Really great time watching this with you! I wish I wrote down all the great moments, but I was caught up in the video! lol. See you on the next one! :D
This is one of best gangster movies ever. The guy in the movie talking to Henry about witness protection is Edward Mcdonald who was the real life prosecutor who took them down.
RIP to Paul Sorvino. The great ones are moving on from us too quickly :(
You probably know but the old lady is Martin Scorceses actual Mother. He puts her in some of his films. I always thought that was funny.

It’s sad as hell too
"Why they turning that lady into a Smurf?"
I woke up the rest of the house because I was howling with laughter when I heard that! Great video again, JL!
Goodfellas is a phenomenal film, and I laugh a lot at it,. However, watching along with you I realized why it's been awhile since I've seen it: for me the film.
A lot of relatives on my mother's side of the family lived in Nassau County just across the line from Queens, where a lot of this film was set, at approximately the same time as the events in the film. They had the same houses, furniture, accents, and yes, more than a few hostess parties that my mom dragged us kids to. (Shudder) Terrible food, too. I remember one of my mom's cousins used to be so proud of her baked tuna casserole with marshmallows in it. (Shudder again) Simply awful.
Also at the same time, much further east on Long Island where my family lived, my dad was a cop assigned to an area lousy with gangsters, and gangster-wannabes, who had moved out from New York City because they thought it would be easier to do what they did and not get caught. My dad would tell me stories when I was growing up, and he described people just like all the guys you see in this film.
Fast forward several years and I'm now going to high school in the very same area: the only Irish kid in a school that was 99.9% Italian. And I got grief from dozens of kids when word got out that my dad had been a cop in the area. These kids were all whining or complaining about how my dad locked up their dads/uncles/brothers/grandfathers. A couple even got stupid and tried to get revenge.
My dad tell me even more stories, and provide more detail, as I got older because he figured I was old enough to understand. After he passed away I found even more about what he dealt with in his old cases files, with some details that actually chilled me.
So yeah, gangsters can be entertaining in their way. But it's good to keep in mind why they are actually criminals.
Other than that, shout out to Drogo and Romulus! You're one lucky guy to have co-pilots like them, JL! And keep up the good work!
Much appreciated, buddy.
@@EOMReacts Cool history fact the FBI agent interrogating him near the end was the real life Agent the interrogated the real life Henry Hill. Also Karen and Paulie were having an affair and the reason he tried whacking off Karen was because he tried having his way with her when she was saying no. Also hate to tell you this, but Henry hill was kicked out of witness because he kept getting into trouble and eventually he became more trouble than he was worth. So ever since than the only way he can make any real money was be constatly reliving his life in the Mafia, so it's no surprise he became an alcholic. Also the reason they had such priviliege in jail was because they BRIBED Guards to look the other way and get such nice things. BUT they had to pay almost $2000 a month and they couldn't earn it from the outside, and that's when Henry started dealing.
That guy on stage telling dad jokes is Henny Youngman, and he pioneered dad jokes, lol. He also wasn't being played by an actor, that was the real guy. He passed away in 1998. He was a really interesting guy. Look his entry on wikipedia up sometime. XD

Two observations: 1. Jay will call at least one character a "bitch" in every reaction. 2. Jay said, "My mom thought that the more people who die in a movie, the better it is. But, I wasn't cut from that cloth." Yet, Jay spends a lot of this movie saying, "He should kill him" and "I'd take him out." So, maybe he got at least a PIECE of that cloth? Haha

Henry never got wacked. He eventually came out of Witness protection and appeared publicly.
I seen a couple his interviews after this
When Henry Hill went into the Witness Protection Program after Karen and the kids, he asked that a whole lot of his mistresses be in WPA with him.

He was actually MUCH taller than Joe Pesci, and way more violent.
Unfortunately for Batts, even being made isn’t enough protection to keep poking at a psycho like Tommy. It would have been wise for that guy to realize when to stop.
@@0okamino , that’s fair. But none of these guys were particularly wise nor smart despite how the movie portrays them. They were thugs, they were dumb, and they were bad with money.
