When I went grocery shopping last week I bought one pkg 8roll toilet paper...lol...sad we're actually discussing toilet paper. I hope one of the eventual outcomes of all this is that we start prioritizing scientific research for the sake of research alone and not just about profiting off of it. When you look back at the race to space & the moon, it’s easy to see how we went from that to having super computers in our pockets, but back then it was pure research just to see if we could do it. Nobody thought about what the newest patent was going to be or how they were going to capitalize on their collective discoveries. We, as a species, need to start doing that with viruses and other medical conditions instead of trillions on what the most efficient way to kill someone. So I did my part by Preparing when times were good, knowing the supply chains were vulnerable, so the supplies ARE there now for someone else now in a time of need. Sure people made fun of me then, but not now!
Same, stocked up in January and passed on our last normal shopping trip. That trip would have been 2 days before SHTF. Yeah its 2 less weeks of supplies for us but we didn't feel it would be right seeing what was about to come. And boy did it come. Stay safe 🙏

Problem is I went to clinic cuz I was sick found out I have an upper respiratory infection. I had to get meds and almost all of them where gone. When people that are sick can’t get a hold of medicine and cleaning supplies that’s how viruses keep spreading. People only care about themselves.
I have been following Finnish hiking and outdoor groups in fb and it is crazy how people don't get the situation. There are people who think that since their work place has closed because of this and the main city Helsinki is closing down this is not the time to travel up to north and take ski holiday. I have been baffeled with their logic. Especially when the local authories from northern part of Finland have told that do not come here, we don't have resources to take care of you if you get sick here. They don't get it that it takes almost three weeks to get sick with this but you can spread it during that time without knowing. So when you take the train or go restaurant or something like that you are making bunch of other people sick. I'm not sure if this is true but someone said in the discussion there that in Korea they found out that 80% of those who got sick got it because one person decided not to care about the recommendations because they felt that they are healthy. They were able to track it down to one person in there. Idk. I have been listening Rachel Maddown show here in you tube and what she has been telling from the situation in Italy is scary. Their death toll is really high and that is where we are all are heading if we don't start to care and listen and believe that even if most of us will fly through this if we get it, there still is bunch of people who will die. Oh and just a tought about the diapers. This will make more laundry but in this situation i probably would check if there is reusable eco option around. Since people are hoarding the normal stuff those may be probably availble at least some. Cloth diapers is what we use to use with babies. They are more messy and means more work but I guess in situation like this we have to do what we have to do. But you are not alone with that issue for sure.

I get his message. I feel it's just a bit over-the-top though. The supplies are available to restock the stores. If people would just quit their fucking panic-buying (seriously, how many times a day do you have to s**t to use up 30 cases of toilet paper?) and putting a strain on the supply chain, we could get the shelves refilled. Keep in mind, most stores depend on "just-in-time" freight, they have little to no back room inventory. It takes time to get supplies from the manufacturer to the distributor to the store, and the hoarders are putting a SERIOUS strain on the supply chain rn.

I get that is younger generation has a responsibility to take this seriously and no pass it on the people that could possibly be killed by it but at the same time why should we struggle . With places closing jobs laying off all of that it’s effecting the ability to live day to day life it’s effecting the ability to pay bills , most of the younger generation don’t have the savings account a 60 -70 year old would have. So yes I agree it’s important to keep people safe but at what cost ? Homelessness because people can’t pay their rent , hunger all kinds of effects .. yes the older generation is important but so if the future of this country
even younger people take damage to the lungs, permanent damage!, its a small percentage of young people that get those damages but 1 or 2% of couple of millions is still a lot, so just do what you got told, stay home, and if that is not an option try your utmost not to get it and not to pass it on.
I have a compromised immune system. I have pretty bad asthma. I have severe epilepsy that can't be controlled. From the moment the first case was reported in my state, I've been too terrified to leave my apartment. I have a high risk of catching it and a high risk of dieing. People need to stop hoarding and making jokes about it. I am terrified that I'm going to die because somebody underestimated the virus or didn't take into consideration that most viruses are highly contagious before you even show symptoms.
It *can* be funny. I know it’s serious and people need to be more aware of that, I’m not denying it; but I live by the Abraham Lincoln quote “I laugh so I do not cry.” I think it’s important to find something, anything, to smile about than lose yourself in hard times.

I have been following Finnish hiking and outdoor groups in fb and it is crazy how people don't get the situation. There are people who think that since their work place has closed because of this and the main city Helsinki is closing down this is not the time to travel up to north and take ski holiday. I have been baffeled with their logic. Especially when the local authories from northern part of Finland have told that do not come here, we don't have resources to take care of you if you get sick here. They don't get it that it takes almost three weeks to get sick with this but you can spread it during that time without knowing. So when you take the train or go restaurant or something like that you are making bunch of other people sick. I'm not sure if this is true but someone said in the discussion there that in Korea they found out that 80% of those who got sick got it because one person decided not to care about the recommendations because they felt that they are healthy. They were able to track it down to one person in there. Idk. I have been listening Rachel Maddown show here in you tube and what she has been telling from the situation in Italy is scary. Their death toll is really high and that is where we are all are heading if we don't start to care and listen and believe that even if most of us will fly through this if we get it, there still is bunch of people who will die.
Oh and just a tought about the diapers. This will make more laundry but in this situation i probably would check if there is reusable eco option around. Since people are hoarding the normal stuff those may be probably availble at least some. Cloth diapers is what we use to use with babies. They are more messy and means more work but I guess in situation like this we have to do what we have to do. But you are not alone with that issue for sure.

It’s a new and scary time for us all, and I’m getting pissed off with the people who aren’t taking this seriously because they don’t think it affects them. OUR decisions and what we decide to do could either save hundreds of thousands of lives or take them. It’s on us to come together as humans and make sacrifices for those more vulnerable and for the hospital systems that could easily be overwhelmed, leading not just to more coronavirus deaths but other deaths because there’s not enough supplies or staff to care for patients. I get his message. I feel it's just a bit over-the-top though. The supplies are available to restock the stores. If people would just quit their fucking panic-buying (seriously, how many times a day do you have to s**t to use up 30 cases of toilet paper?) and putting a strain on the supply chain, we could get the shelves refilled. Keep in mind, most stores depend on "just-in-time" freight, they have little to no back room inventory. It takes time to get supplies from the manufacturer to the distributor to the store, and the hoarders are putting a SERIOUS strain on the supply chain rn.

I get that is younger generation has a responsibility to take this seriously and no pass it on the people that could possibly be killed by it but at the same time why should we struggle . With places closing jobs laying off all of that it’s effecting the ability to live day to day life it’s effecting the ability to pay bills , most of the younger generation don’t have the savings account a 60 -70 year old would have. So yes I agree it’s important to keep people safe but at what cost ? Homelessness because people can’t pay their rent , hunger all kinds of effects .. yes the older generation is important but so if the future of this country
even younger people take damage to the lungs, permanent damage!, its a small percentage of young people that get those damages but 1 or 2% of couple of millions is still a lot, so just do what you got told, stay home, and if that is not an option try your utmost not to get it and not to pass it on.
I have a compromised immune system. I have pretty bad asthma. I have severe epilepsy that can't be controlled. From the moment the first case was reported in my state, I've been too terrified to leave my apartment. I have a high risk of catching it and a high risk of dieing. People need to stop hoarding and making jokes about it. I am terrified that I'm going to die because somebody underestimated the virus or didn't take into consideration that most viruses are highly contagious before you even show symptoms.

It *can* be funny. I know it’s serious and people need to be more aware of that, I’m not denying it; but I live by the Abraham Lincoln quote “I laugh so I do not cry.” I think it’s important to find something, anything, to smile about than lose yourself in hard times.
