Day after ‘24 election: I really hope our young people can hear & digest this song. Especially witnessing Joni performing it at age 80 something. And especially after this latest disaster of an election. Joy & creativity combined with an unrelenting will to stand together & fight for what we know is right is always the only path forward. Remember, there is only ONE truth in every aspect of life. No here’s or there’s, only one. It can’t be confused because it is the truth. Life is chaos. Enjoy it with grace & humility but never ever detach from your very own personal seriousness. It will always be necessary!! Love & Health💙
I so happy to see and hear this Wonderful song by Joni Mitchell a true inspiration and Icon of music, lyrics and Peace! I was upset that I was unable to be there to be in the presence of this Wonderful ensemble!! Thank you so much and keep bringing us all you can for many years to come and I hope to see you in person soon! :)) 🎤🎶🌹🌻❤️👍🌈☮️
There was just something off about the vibe at the Bowl concerts. Newport and the Gorge were charming and restrained. But the songs sound quite muddy here. She really struggled with the uptempo numbers and there were just too many singers on almost every number.
@@leahcartmell7303 thanks for having the courage to tell the truth and call out “ the elephant in the room.” I did the same on the “Both Sides Now” video. I consider Joni the greatest singer/songwriter of all time but I’m glad I didn’t pay money to see this. It’s not too good and a bit depressing actually…
Joni suffered a brain aneurysm in 2022. It is incredibly brave for her to be performing at all. A smoker, she lost her soprano voice but had developed a lovely sultry alto by the time this song was written. Lady is a legend. ❤ read her story; she cleared the way for many a young female singer song writers. Human’s are so multifaceted. It’s those who get up again after failing, sometimes again and again that are awe inspiring. Learn from them. It will make you better.
It is quite simply a wonder that Joni is performing her wonderful poetry in person! What an inspiration. Her voice is both sultry and funky and a delight! She is the grand dame of singer songwriters! Long live Joni!
🎶🥰🎶👏👏👏Love you Joni forever! 🙏 Thank you♥️

Love you Joni!
Stunningly beautiful.
Back in 1957
We had to dance a foot apart
And they hawk-eyed us from the sidelines
Holding their rulers without a heart
And so with just a touch of our fingers
oh we could make our circuitry explode
All we ever wanted
Was just to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(we were so young)
Oh come in
Come in from the cold
We really thought we had a purpose
We were so anxious to achieve
We had hope
The world held promise
For a slave to liberty
Freely I slaved away for something better
And I was bought and sold
And all I ever wanted
Was to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(we were so sure)
Oh come in
Come in from the cold
I feel your leg under the table
Leaning into mine
I feel renewed
I feel disabled
By these bonfires in my spine
I don't know who the arsonist was
Which incendiary soul
But all I ever wanted
Was just to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(you were so warm)
Oh come in
Come in from the cold
I am not some stone commission
Like a statue in a park
I am flesh and blood and vision
I am howling in the dark
Long blue shadows of the jackals
Are falling on a pay phone by the road
Oh, all they ever wanted
Was just to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(I was so low)
Oh come in
Come in from the cold
Is this just vulgar electricity
Is this the edifying fire
(it was so pure)
Does your smile's covert complicity
Debase as it admires
(just a flu with a temperature)
Are you just checking out your mojo
Or am I just fighting off growing old
(just a high fever)
All I ever wanted
Was just to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(it was so pure)
Oh come in
Come in from the cold
I know we never will be perfect
Never entirely clear
(when the moon shines)
We get hurt and we just panic
And we strike out
Out of fear
(you were only being kind)
I fear the sentence of this solitude
200 years on hold
(for my loving crime)
Oh and all we ever wanted
Was just to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(when the moon shines)
Oh come in
Come in from the cold
When I thought life had some meaning
Then I thought I had some choice
(I was running blind)
And I made some value judgments
In a self-important voice
(I was outa line)
But then absurdity came over me
And I longed to lose control
(into no mind)
Oh all I ever wanted
Was just to come in from the cold
Come in
Come in from the cold
(you were so kind)
Please come in
(I was so low)
Come in from the cold
Come in come in
Come in from the cold

Wish I would’ve known about this concert.

This Carlile chick creeps me out....
I find something very weird about the whole thing. Joni is a genius but this does not sound good. Why pretend.
This is what Joni said last night,
“I’m honored to have her as a friend because she brought me out of retirement.
@@leahcartmell7303 Hard to tell from this but I think she is immensely talented.

”this does not sound good” ???????
she sounds awful
Is it your goal to come and make a sh*tty comment on every video? Get a clue - nobody here cares.
And how do YOU sound?
Mike kelly, don't attend her concerts. Zip it.
