Sorolla was a master of light and loved painting at the beach. If you look carefully, the same people often appear in his works. His understanding of light and that less can be more is what I find so amazing. It is a shame we don't see artist working like this today.
One of my favorite places to go in Madrid! The Sorolla museum is located in his former residence, and is a loving tribute to his art, and Sorolla the artist. There us also currently a temporary exhibit in Toledo, Spain.

I ❤ Sorolla, it's realism/impressionism, beautiful colours and forms which allows me to escape to those sunny beaches and just people watch 😊
