And it took 3-4 hours for Devito to get into the penguin outfit. Also Devitos character as penguin is underrated as heck. The snarls, laughter and witty dialogue was done fantastically.

Love this movie for so many reasons. I was always a fan of Marvel and DC as a 90's kid and this was one of my favorite movies, I watched it all the time. I loved the entire cast, they were great. Especially Danny Devito's Penguin... the ending made me cry as a kid because he never had any love or empathy given to him in his life. I saw that as a child and it was sad how the penguins paid their respects to him.

UploadVidZ neither Halle Berry or Hathaway have the acting chops to carry a larger than life character. Michelle Pfeiffer has always been a phenomenal dramatic actress with a huge range. This role allowed her to really shine. She played it beyond anyone’s expectations and will remain iconic for it. No one else comes close. It is not easy to pull off a character like this no matter how good of an actress you are. The layers of weakness, strength, camp, and vulnerability were all shown through Pfeiffer. Truly amazing.

I am a Batman fanatic and too this day, this is still my favourite live action Batman film. Always been more into the animation, comics and the Arkham games than the live action films. However this one has always stood out amongst any of the others for me.
I'm not a massive Keaton fan, nor do I find him iconic as Batman, but this film still has such charisma to it and a charm that only gets better when you get older, Danny and Michelle did such a great job in this film, especially in their costumes

JEEZUS - NO Catwoman was like Pfieffer's, my gosh... I hadn't seen this in years, I'm surprised she'd didn't get more praise, perfect casting for a perfectly written character - IDC if its not lifted directly from the books, this was a great interpretation.

Make up, costume design, art direction and set design in this movie is incredible still looks incredible to this day this movie has aged beautifully.
The terribly stitched Catwoman suits puts so much soul and history into the character.

Madonna was actually DYING for this role of Catwoman, as were most of Hollywood's babes.
Not gonna lie as much as I love Michelle in this, Madonna woulda been the only woman in Hollywood at that point who coulda done this Catwoman sexier. She had a much better body than Michelle did for one so she coulda filled the suit out more, plus she was in her absolute prime in 1992 in terms of looks as she had the Sex book, so she would rocked it perfectly. She wore the heavy makeups more and I see her doing the erotic stuff a little better than Michelle, she woulda been too flirty lol. They woulda have to had to tone her down a bit.
She wouldn't have nailed the acting high notes Michelle did but she woulda brought a ton of people in return.. coulda been intresting.
@@efan2012 I agree. Madonna would also go on to do a ton of action stunts in her videos and concerts in the 00’s and onwards. I think that, combined with the things you pointed out, she def would’ve done a good job in this role. She’s usually a terrible actress but she’s good at a very particular type of character, and cat woman is fits!

Very true on the T-2 comparison. Batman Returns is better than Batman 1989, which isn't a knock. It's saying a lot. When it comes to Batman films, only Burton got it right.

Everything you like about The Dark Knight comes from Batman Begins - Christian Bale, the dark tone, the intriguing story, and the way it sets up the scene for the future, as examples. We'd probably never have The Dark Knight if it weren't for Batman Begins, and Batman would still have a tainted reputation in the cinema.
Sure, you don't HAVE to like Batman Begins (I don't either really), but at least acknowledging and being thankful for where the trilogy started is important.
I recently rewatched this movie and was shocked at the amount of sexual innuendo that went over my head as a kid. Now I know why my parents were acting so uncomfortable when we watched this movie!

To be fair, ppl always ignore the fact that Halle Berry's Catwoman was written as a hero/anti-hero. If for no other reason, she shouldn't catch as much flac as she does for that role.
UploadVidZ neither Halle Berry or Hathaway have the acting chops to carry a larger than life character. Michelle Pfeiffer has always been a phenomenal dramatic actress with a huge range. This role allowed her to really shine. She played it beyond anyone’s expectations and will remain iconic for it. No one else comes close. It is not easy to pull off a character like this no matter how good of an actress you are. The layers of weakness, strength, camp, and vulnerability were all shown through Pfeiffer. Truly amazing.
Eartha was more sexy and better (I think is was because is was basically eartha being eartha) but this catwoman is refined and the suit is more provocative

I am a Batman fanatic and too this day, this is still my favourite live action Batman film. Always been more into the animation, comics and the Arkham games than the live action films. However this one has always stood out amongst any of the others for me.

I'm not a massive Keaton fan, nor do I find him iconic as Batman, but this film still has such charisma to it and a charm that only gets better when you get older, Danny and Michelle did such a great job in this film, especially in their costumes

@@pilummurialis6490 I think he was one of the best. Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman. Still, I'd take Keaton over Bale. There's no mystique in Nolan's Batman, he's just a soldier. Burton's Batman is a dark creature from hell.

As cool as it would be, connecting that line to the first movie creates continuity problems.
Mayor Borg was mayor during the Joker's reign of terror. But he was as equally useless as the Mayor in Batman Returns.
@JhonJanor It's definitely aimed more towards the Red Triangle gang but given Gotham knows firsthand just how dangerous one clown can be, it definitely gets more people on Oswald's side politically since he's calling out the Mayor (and ones before) for letting these situations repeat.
