My respect for Devin has gone up a lot after seeing this show. After the show, Devin got off the stage and shook everyone's hand. While he was doing this, I asked for a picture, and he said that he wanted to meet everyone first then he would do pictures. Well the security guards start pushing everyone out and Devin still hadn't finished meeting everyone. When security was making people leave, Devin says, "Where's that fan that I promised a picture with?" I joyously yelled "me" and got a picture with him. Seriously, what other famous musician is that fucking cool?
It's like Devin is aware of how society is an artificial construct that exists inter-subjectively in the collective figments of our imaginations or something, and that whole communities can be conjured up out of nowhere to serve questionable purposes.
I'm so glad that I found this band. I was in such a bad place, and Devin's music pulled me right up and out of it! And every day I learn of how great they are as human beings. It makes me feel so elated and alive, and has changed my whole perspective on life.
At nyc meet and greet, I was visibly nervous but Ryan was so nice to me, he instantly made me feel grateful and appreciated as a fan. Dave is a stand up guy too, his eyes opened up when he saw how excited I was lol
+Andromeda Galaxy and Matt, I think the next time they swing into NY.. can we..all of us gather up? Perhaps grab a beer ..(It'd be pretty cool to do, meet up to see such a great group of musicians and enjoy..this is how 've met so many awesome friends over the years)
RVP is as good as they come,a few years back a friend of mine got the diagnosis of stage 3 colon cancer,so I sent him a message asking if he could send her some encouraging words as my social circle is largely bonkers for DTP. He took the time to send her some awesome inspiration,he didn't have to,did anyway. And to cap off the anecdote my friend is now cancer free. :)
No worries Dev. I was there and had a fucking blast. You guys handled the hiccups like pros and finished strong, and I'm grateful to you guys for making it out to NOLA!
Amazing show! Dev's reactions to the technical difficulties were priceless - laughed so hard! PLEASE, PLEASE - come back to New Orleans!!! Not many of us showed up, but you definitely made our day, nay year!

I assume the other show was the Atlanta one? That mix was virtually perfect. The Columbus one was extremely bass heavy and I was standing within several feet of the sound board. But that Atlanta show, though...my god. That was beautiful.
I think that knowing someone who is on the boards that knows the in's and out's of the show and doesn't fall asleep at the board? I love it. I bet you if Zim gives this over to her to read she'd be tickled pink to know people are aware of all the things she's doing. I think that everyone who works with Dev knows just how amazing it all is. I also know that, after all these years of getting to see Dev perform in so many of his reincarnations that it's always a beautiful thing to listen too when his music comes across the speakers and knowing that the men & women; that helped flesh all of it out are also playing it nightly for those lucky enough to get to see. I think we all can go back to gigs we've been too where the sound is.. so terrible only to find out it's not someone who knows the music nor cares to even be sitting in the 'shit sound pit' vs. someone who's at the helm of the ship making sure that every and all things out there for the ride is smooth sailing. (I'll go back to We are the Road Crew and crank it in your honor ladies and gents)
