Bears reporter Tyler Dunne on Justin Fields being a part of the ‘toxic as hell’ culture in the Bears QB room in 2021:
“There were several arguments amongst the QBs. Once, per one source, Foles was trying to teach something to Fields in the QB room and, upon turning toward the rookie, Foles realized Fields wasn’t even paying attention. His head was down. At that point, Foles was done trying to play mentor. The two could not stand each other. They never were together. It was always Andy and Nick walking side by side and Justin always 15 yards behind them.”
ESPN Steelers reporter Brooke Pryor on what the Steelers told Justin Fields when they traded for him this offseason:
“The Steelers said to Justin Fields, ‘Hey, we’re going to trade for you. We don’t necessarily see you as a starter right now, but we want you to learn under Russell Wilson.’ Maybe not all of the habits and things that have not gone well for him recently, but they want him to learn how to be a pro, how to function in a franchise that is not just kind of helpless and constantly struggling to get out of its own way.”

Not worried about Fields at all. This was three years ago. He knows his place and has every motivation to do whatever it takes to succeed.
Don’t be so sure about that. We all saw in 2023 how he threw his own coaches under the bus. My mouth dropped when a reporter asked him during a postgame interview to explain the offensive problems the Bears were having, and he said, “Coaching!”

That’s one reason they traded him for next to nothing. Fields doesn’t have what it takes to beat out Russ, especially either Russ on a mission! You could be Patrick fkn Mahomes and you wouldn’t beat out Russ this offseason. Russ is going to be on fire this year. Hes in the best shape of his life and he’s angry that people have tried to forget everything he’s done in the league.
Russ will not only start but be an elite QB, and no one should be surprised if he plays MVP-level ball this year.

I believe that this is just the Chicago Bears. Trying to bash Justin Fields after they traded him. Before they traded him to the Steelers. They claimed that they wanted to do right by Justin Fields. They were the ones who drafted him. So it seems like they would have known about his character.
We know trading him to the Steelers after Russ had signed there was anything but “doing right by him.”

A supposedly rumor that happened when Fields was a rookie. Nobody put Fields on blast as a rookie and now years later when he's traded away all of a sudden this comes out.Last time i checked his ex teammates weren't happy that he was traded away. Doesn't sound like a bad teammate to me.

Russ deep ball thread is the key for success in running the ball. Running the ball is also the key for success with the deep ball. A QB who is no deep ball thread, who is an additional running thread instead, is strategically nonsense and also injury prone. The best ability of a QB is availability, Russ is known for beeing extreme durable. Ask the Bengals on that subject, what is Burrow worth without durability ?

But, to keep this balanced Wilson got a whole lot of rumors around him as well such as, bad teammate, not wanting to listen too coaches, being a gun in the pocket, etc. It seems like this might be fuel for the "Russ" QB1 crowd. Listen, I prefer Feilds over Russ but at the end of the day. If Russ loses pole position#1 or Feilds waits (because he is looked at as QB of the future). It doesn't matter, I really like both of them. Whomever helps the Steelers to win...I'm good with both because they are Pittsburgh Steelers.

I can see the Steelers heading into Week 11 and being 9-0 based on Strength of QB. Only One Top QB and that's Justin Herbert of the Chargers without his usual weapons of Mike Williams and Keenan Allen and Austin ekeler. Cousins, and Rodgers coming off serious injuries and both over 35 and 40 years of age. And facing Prescott and Rodgers on Prime Time where Mike Tomlin never loses and have the Steelers ready to play. Week 9 of the last 2 years is when the offensive line started to gel and the Steelers started to Run the Ball and go on winning Streaks. I believe with this new OL that starts in Week 1.

Russell Wilson is a different guy and with coach tomlin as the coach Justin will be able to decipher the lies from the truths alot of veterans lie to young qbs on the roster because they don't want their job taken and the quickest way to lose your job in the nfl is by letting a younger guy outplay you the team will switch so fast. You don't realize you lost your job before it's even announced, as soon as they see him getting it in practice or he has a really good game, it's a wrap!
If the Steelers trade for Sutton, they would have to pay because he would still want a pay bump here or in Denver. He is not #1 WR and next year we would have to pay Pickens also. Are you going to pay Picken the same as Sutton or more? Are going pay Russell or Fields if one do very well? Are you going to pay Harris and/or Heyward. Sutton may not be that guy the Steelers want now.
