I like this animation. It really shows how much Gordon has gotten used to handling weapons after Resonance Cascade without making him look like a special forces. But that's kinda basic by todays standards. What really surprised me is the entirely redone Buggy animation. It's insane that no one even MMod has done anything like it before.
it's possible with all vehicles really but it's pretty limiting, for it to look fully correct it needs code edits aswell which isn't possible in this instance so you're at the mercy of vanilla systems which means alot of clipping and seeing things you aren't supposed to... as long as one looks forward it looks pretty cool but falls apart once you look to your sides or backwards. It just one of those things where you gotta appreciate it even works and get past the minor issues.
I'm glad someone actually is fixing the fact that the MP7 Prototype in Half-Life 2 was ejecting 9x19 like casings rather that actual 5.7 Bottle neck casings! Though the casings should be made smaller lol
He did that because it fires 4.6x30mm which is a bottlenecked cartridge similar to a rifle cartridge, but there's no way to scale the casing model IIRC.
this is great however i really suggest you take a more....'original' route with the pistol. What you've got for everything else is fantastic however the pistol animations look basically the same as most other custom animations for it to the likes of MMod, Project HL2, etc. This is mainly due to the reload. My biggest suggestion is to make the pistol 2 handed, and have the player pull the slide back rather than flicking it forward.
@ im aware however he needs something to set this apart from basically every other anim pack out there, most anim packs have the exact same pistol anims and its just boring to see it recycled
Coming from someone who has shot actual firearms in the real world, I’ve grown tired of hyper styled animations that resemble teenagers fiddling with nerf guns more than bring. This is not only phenomenal by HL2 standards, but honestly some of the best FPS animations I’ve seen in general.
My only suggestion is make the pistol fly around a bit less and in turn have more backwards recoil than upwards, other than that, everything looks great
Really cool! personally I perfer MMods take on the Overwatch Rifle, but everything else is great, though it would have been cool if the Tau Cannon was controlled by a joystick or something, having Gordon drive with one hand and control the cannon with the other, but thats just me spitballing, overall, great, faithful animations

Ideally i would like to have same exact motions just cleaned up from mistakes like wrong place where shells are put by Gordon on Spas or lack of casings ejected by pistol and alike. To keep this energetic way he puts the mag into MP7 in original too and rarelly the og revolver cylinder spin even if it doesnt make sense mechanicly.
Any chance that the buggy could get more degrees of steering wheel rotation? Also, I love the weapon animations. These animations make him look like he has a little more experience from the first game, but is still amateur in nature.

EZ2 does the exact same thing for the AR2 unless you are talking about the blue prototype version of it that has the mag swapping. My animations are made to be faithful to the original ones for the most part so I won't change it, there's a slim chance that I might do an optional separate compile that has the AR2 with mag swapping but I'd need to edit the mesh further to be able to do that so I'm not promising anything.
Optional as I know there are several who prefer the Juniez weapons with the Fewez arms cause of the old HL2: Redux mod that never came. This pack was always made with vanilla in mind where it was possible.
i love the animations for the revolver, they're smooth but not overly exaggerated for the sake of being cool like in a lot of other animation packs

MMod also fixed it last I recall and yes, I'm intending to scale them down aswell at some point.

From what i can see, this pack aims to be faithful to the original animations, and making the pistol two handed would go against that style
@ it is somewhat faithful yes but there can still be more originality in the pistol even with being one handed such as the slide pull reload
