They showed IIT students as if they had really worked on all those metal processing .But in reality they just take many months to hold the hammer and screw properly.Because all the iitans does not know how to build any machine by their own hand ;they only know how to proof mathematics formula because they get admitted to iit only by proofing and solving mathematics and physics.The real engineering skill is never tested in the qualifying entrance exam.
The real engineers work is mostly paper work and abstraction... This practical knowledge has to be known to the engineer but the real ideas and engineering always comes from mathematical modelling and laws of physics, by solving equation and proving theorems, mathematical abstraction infers a tremendous power and who knows the limit of that power.. Even Einstein theory of relativity was not discovered by doing experiment with sun, moon and the stars, it was developed by Einstein by solving the maxwells equation in consistent manner for many years solving rigorous equations No wonder the iitians are more good in science, and the silicon Valley is totally dominated by indian, and in mit the students don't even know to light a bulb which is simple equation ohms law which they probably have not solved I think u don't know anything about mathematics and how engineering methods really work.

Surprised someone would try to compare IIT and MIT. The only common factor is both are mostly technical institutes and the ranking in respective countries are among the top 5%. MIT is so far ahead in innovation, facilities etc and dream of most top IIT graduates who want to pursue research is to get into MIT which is extremely difficult even for those who are in top 5% from IIT.

When I went to Britain, I have realized that MSc in Britain ( 9 months course in london, 12 months in other universities) is one fourth of our MSc ( 24 months course) regarding the contents and depth of our Syllabus. A BSc in Cambridge ( in practice 18 months course) is one third of our BSc (48 months course) . A lot of topics which we have in our Syllabus do not even exist in the British Syllabus. Believe it or not. Unfortunately, it is not the syllabus or difficulty of the examination system i.e the education that counts. It is the Market Value which counts.
IIT is not better than MIT. But its possible that few IIT students are better than the few MIT students. When I am talking about IIT students, it means students enrolled in bachelors degree.

Only the one who have studied at both the universities and has been a part of research can answer this. But still I feel that MIT may have better infrastructure, facilities or Campus but still it can't beat the C.S. students of IITB who are ruling at the peak in Asia and so it's my dream. Just because a school is difficult to enter does not make it great at all. And the best example of this is the IIT system. A university-level institution's value is measured against its innovations and scientific outputs AS INSTITUTION. IIT scores very poorly even within Asia. That is why it also scores badly in the international rankings of universities.
Average median salary of MIT graduates far surpasses that of IIT. And job matriculation is higher. (Yes india's population, but these are a select few students who get in IIT anyway so that is not really a valid argument)

Tsinghua University's world rank is 15th, but a couple of day, not couple of day, I've saw a couple of time that Tsinghua beat MIT in many competition . now come to the point, many iit rank between 51 to 100( according to subject -engineering, qs-ranking 2016-2017) . so it is obvious matter rank doesn't mean any things, it means only the students quality, some iit students are better, some mit students are better, ranking should not be a factor in this situation.

Surprised someone would try to compare IIT and MIT. The only common factor is both are mostly technical institutes and the ranking in respective countries are among the top 5%. MIT is so far ahead in innovation, facilities etc and dream of most top IIT graduates who want to pursue research is to get into MIT which is extremely difficult even for those who are in top 5% from IIT.

When I went to Britain, I have realized that MSc in Britain ( 9 months course in london, 12 months in other universities) is one fourth of our MSc ( 24 months course) regarding the contents and depth of our Syllabus. A BSc in Cambridge ( in practice 18 months course) is one third of our BSc (48 months course) . A lot of topics which we have in our Syllabus do not even exist in the British Syllabus. Believe it or not.
Unfortunately, it is not the syllabus or difficulty of the examination system i.e the education that counts. It is the Market Value which counts.
IIT is not better than MIT. But its possible that few IIT students are better than the few MIT students. When I am talking about IIT students, it means students enrolled in bachelors degree.

IITs are indeed great schools and genius magnets. But I don't really think academic system, curriculum and students' intellect at MIT is in any way less compared to IIT. I believe competition and survival at MIT is far harder than IITs since it doesn't just attract geniuses from USA but all across the world. Considering academic excellence and contributions to STEM, other Asian universities like NUSingapore, University of Tokyo and Tsinghua outrank IITs.

Cause in India we are " trained" to solve such questions, we have books like DC pandey which literally gives away the joy of oroblem solving by revealing each and every trick, students there are tought only basic rules and concepts, they are given assignments to "think " and figure out independently!,
BUT after the course, ask the MITian to build a transistor, and he will gladly accept, ask the same to an IITian and he will prolly be looking for his books of excuses

But still I feel that MIT may have better infrastructure, facilities or Campus but still it can't beat the C.S. students of IITB who are ruling at the peak in Asia and so it's my dream. Hopefully I get there.
Just because a school is difficult to enter does not make it great at all. And the best example of this is the IIT system. A university-level institution's value is measured against its innovations and scientific outputs AS INSTITUTION. IIT scores very poorly even within Asia. That is why it also scores badly in the international rankings of universities.
Average median salary of MIT graduates far surpasses that of IIT. And job matriculation is higher. (Yes india's population, but these are a select few students who get in IIT anyway so that is not really a valid argument)

But let's face it, IITs are well-known for the business startups their alumni have produced in the recent past (think Snapdeal, Flipkart etc) and not any key research projects. Tsinghua University's world rank is 15th, but a couple of day, not couple of day, I've saw a couple of time that Tsinghua beat MIT in many competition . now come to the point, many iit rank between 51 to 100( according to subject -engineering, qs-ranking 2016-2017) . so it is obvious matter rank doesn't mean any things, it means only the students quality, some iit students are better, some mit students are better, ranking should not be a factor in this situation.

I have never heard of IIT or any Indian college, but other Asian university from Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China top on the list of Asian countries each year, some of them even rank top 50 in the world, but india never show up on the list..... Is that mean they are bad?
