I think Yamoshi made a prophecy before dying, that part of his soul will ressurected or return who will be born good, silent, descent and pure from inside and a born powerful warrior who will bring change to the entire fate of saiyan race a true natural born legendary super-saiyan and we all know who he was none other than Broly. But true fans of DBZ knew that when King Vegeta found out that Broly was born with the power level of 10,000 he ordered to kill the infant that where fate & destiny of Broly and Goku switched. Bcoz, true fans know that when Goku was born he was a very troublemaker evil kid just like ordinary other saiyan and it was Broly who was different from rest others just like Yamoshi but fate twisted and so is their destiny. How's that for a plot in the story of DBZ Universe... Thumbs up if u like it.😉

My theory : Yamoshi was grandfather of bardock nad king vegeta, king vegetas father betrayed bardock father and became king. Bardock never knew about yamoshi and king vegeta. And this means gokus great grandfather is yamoshi, yamoshis spirit actually is powerful than beerus.
