I use a bear canister for washing off w/ warm water & washing my undergarments. Then, dry it out & put food back in

Thanks for the update, Buttons! You must be getting close to your start date! Very well organized and well thought out gear. Interesting idea with the trail bath! I am sure it does wonders to help with your morale.

Yes getting close for sure. That pack is sitting in the car ready to go. Thank you for commenting. The bath idea makes wonders on kind sections.

Nice pack, it all fits together nicely! I am right at 29 pounds also; you have a few luxury items but comfort counts on trail. I am sure that it will help you with the mental aspect. Just take note that if you do not use something at least once every 72 hours, you probably don't need to be carrying it (with the exception of first aid). That's a tip somebody told me that I think is very useful. Have a wonderful hike!!

    Couple questions:
Does the liner over the pad cut down on noise?
    Which EE do you have?
How much does the Gossamer Gear Pad weigh?
    Is your food bag waterproof?
What water filtration are you going with?
Do you wish you had a netted pouch on the outside of your pack instead of the zipper?
On a side note, I have the exact same trekking poles. They are my very favorite item! I ended up getting a pillow that is part down and part blowup. It is absolutely fantastic!

I like your videos, hey, they are better than mine! I am thinking about a chair also… why did you go with the one you have?

    • @PacemakerandButtons
      @PacemakerandButtons  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Thank you. Up until now, the chair was the lightest available. However, Nemo has come out with one even lighter! Rather expensive tho😕. But I LOVE the chair! I use it for multiple things…sitting, prospering feet on, sitting pack on it😉

Yes! The liner does cut down on noise. I have an Ex Therm Therm-a-rest pad and it works great. Plus my sleeping bag “sticks” better to my pad with the liner on. There are other pads that are more crinklier than mine so I can’t answer for those.
I have the 10 degree Convert Enlightened Equipment slapping bag, for winter use.
The Gossamer Gear weighs 2.7 ounces😊
I’d say, no, my bear bag isn’t completely waterproof. I use a Scent-Loc for added protection inside of it.
Sometimes I wish I had a netted pouch. My old ULA Circuit had one and I loved it.
There are pros and cons with this outer zipper on the Zpak bag. It keeps things dry, doesn’t snag like a netted pouch. I feel my things are more secure in it. The netted pouch on the ULA was easily accessible, I could see where my things were and I could dry stuff if I had wet things in it.
I LOVE my poles too! I like using the rubber tip covers. My poles are invaluable since I have bad knees!
I’m interested in your pillow! What brand? My other choice was my Therm-a-rest foam pillow. It sleeps like the My Pillow pillows (which my home pillows are My Pillow brand and we love them!!)
