you got out there and tried your best. be proud of that. My husband and I climbed Mt LeConte a few years ago, many people can do that like it's nothing for me I had to train for a year, and I do like to hike but the higher mountains and narrow trails are a bit out of my comfort zone, I ended up in tears and really thought I couldn't do it but I pushed my self and we finally made it. There are cabins and a lodge at the top we had reservations so got to spend the night. I watch a lot of Appalachian trail videos, and I would really love to do the Trail, but physically I do not think I could. But we go out and do weekend trips along the Trail when we can and make mini vacations along the Trail. So I experience it that way. All the best to you.
❤
I wondered how you both were doing! We have had similar experiences on the AT this year. We met at Above the Clouds hostel and had a funny chat about devices that allow us ladies to stand up like the guys 😂. I left trail just short of 100 miles with a stress fracture, maybe half of that in terrible pain, so I totally understand! Be proud of what you both accomplished. 120 miles is more than most people you meet have even thought about! Take care of your bodies and keep up your spirits. The trail will be there… <<hugs>> VooDooRANGER
Hope you have healed and one day you will be back out there.
Sorry you are having to stop. Gotta take care of health first! Loved you video journal.
Love the wicked hard 😂😂 take care of yourselves! Was awesome meeting you both wicked pissah :)
Praying for you!
Could you show the inside of your tent when you are in it and the food you eat. It would be interesting to see.
Are you still on trail?
Bless your heart. No shame in a 120 mile hike. God has so richly blessed y’all in that you both enjoy hiking together. I did that same section to Fontana and the hardest part was missing my wife of 40 years. So y’all have a lot to look forward to. I hope your knees heal soon Buttons! 👍🏼🙏🏼
That’s awesome and thank you!
You two are cute!!
Very much enjoying both of you! My husband and I are cheering you on!
Scott here. Have no regrets. You both are true champions. The trail has been way harder than I could have ever imagined. You will always have a special place In my heart. Thank you for all the joy and happiness you shared to me when I met you on trail and in town. I am so proud of you both. Rest up, your body will heal and you will get stronger. Just remember all the AMAZINGNESS the trail shared with you. Hope to see you in the future. I’m still steppin. Slow. But steppin.
Thank you Scott! Buttons (Renee) here. Your compassion and encouragement means more than you know! It was such a pleasure for Jim and I to meet you and Wendy too! Too bad we missed your sweet wife. We will continue watching your videos😀. And we are proud of y’all for keeping on keeping on! Yes the trail is a doozie at times! But one step at a time! TURTLE TURTLE😘
Love yall!!
Love you too!
Oh, man!!!! I'm so sad for you guys! I heard the news first on Ramdino's channel as I had your video in my treadmill playlist and I haven't gotten to the gym in awhile. It'll all work out eventually. Hang in there, get healed, and come back stronger next year. ♥️
Thank you so much Halo!
❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’m so sorry & hope you get those knees better than before. My mom had hers replaced & was so happy w/ results. Since she had bone on bone it added a full inch to her height w/ replacements. I wish you both the best. You’ve had such a tough time of late.
Thank you!
Never disappointed. You have done more than most of us has. Your health comes first. Good luck and enjoy your retirement.
Thank you!
Thank you so much
Better safe than sorry
Awesome views glad your having fun
I certainly understand how delicate knees can be and am sorry they took you off trail this year. I was watching another gentlemen whose knees also said ‘not this year’. Best of luck for healing and strengthening so your future hiking ambitions can be realized.
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on a valiant attempt. It was fun to follow you guys. You’re a wonderful team and I know you have many adventures ahead.
Thank you so much!
Oh, Buttons, please don't worry about disappointing anyone. Things happen as you know. We have the strong belief that you WILL some day realize Your's and Pacemaker's Dream of completing the trail. In the meantime, yes, please keep us posted on your getting your knees working again. And, just generally just keep in touch. God Bless. Take Care. And congratulations on completing the miles you did. People don't realize how each mile on the AT is a victory.
Awwwww thank you and we’ll def keep plugged in.
So glad you're okay! Unlike so many others you read about, you guys recognized an issue and made a decision to do what's best for your health and not exceed your limits, making a tough situation worse. 120 miles is no joke! much respect to the both of you. Take care, looking forward to your future videos. Your videos are definately inspiring.
Awwww thank you so much!
Please keep us posted on your health Blessings to you both
Thank you and we shall!
So impressed with your travels. You have not disappointed at all. What you shared through your videos was so refreshing and I enjoyed them so much. You have so many adventures ahead of you. Blessings to you and your family.
Thank you!!!
Bummer, man. Get well, rest up, and do it again next year. Rooting for you!
Thank you!!
First and forever, I am glad that you were able to get off the trail safely. Secondly I am sorry that you weren’t able to complete your long awaited journey at this time and am heartbroken for you. Button, I pray for a quick and complete healing of your knees so that you can get back on the trail! If you should try again next year, maybe we will be able to meet as I am in the process of planning a thru hike next year around late February. Keep us posted on your progress on your channel. I’ll be watching.
That sounds awesome. Thank you!
Things happen and that’s ok. Heal well. The trail will be there when you’re ready to come back. 🥰
Thank you!
Greetings from Western Canada! The LORD bless and keep you both! The trail will always be there for you guys! I was on the A.T. in 2019 starting out at Amicalola Falls State Park for a NOBO! My right ankle gave out on day 3. Also, my daughter back home was having some serious health issues that needed her pappa's tender love. It all worked out in God’s providence. It's now March 2024, and I've finally just had my ankle bone fusion surgery. I have all of my original gear all set for a future go at the A.T. I was planning my A.T. hike since 2015, looking ahead for my "retirement hike!" As the LORD heals you up, you will be back in good form!!! Be of good cheer! Lamplighter 2024 on the side! 👍😎🌞
Thank you for your story and encouragement!! Maybe we’ll see you sometime out there in the future!!
I will stay subscribed, and will keep up with any updates that you upload! Enjoy your Spring & Summer. 🤗 @PacemakerandButtons
Hey, 120 miles isn’t nothing! Congrats on what you accomplished and your gracious way of explaining your situation.
You didn't disappoint us. You have to take care of yourself. Be proud of your accomplishment. God bless you, praying for your doctors visit.
Wonderful people, praying for you.
Thank you!
Enjoyed following your hike, sorry things didn't work out like you wanted to, but your health is more important. Take care and see you in the next video.
Thank you!
Thanks for taking us along! Really enjoyed watching you guys, so sorry to hear that your knees were so painful. Definitely not disappointed. Just one question remains though.......what was buttons favorite snack?
Thank you! And def the 3 Musketeers LOL. I can’t continue eating like that for a while now😢😅
Congratulations on your accomplishment at least you tried and you had fun with it who could ask for anything more people you met things you saw memories and that’s the key to a good trip. I’ll stay subscribed looking for further post. Take care.
Oh thank you!!
You both are awesome! Be well and get well. Enjoy whatever journey is before you. Blessings and Happy Life Trails! 🌈🌄🙏
Looking at it another way - You made it to Wayah Bald! That is an achievement that not all can do. You can be proud of that. Knees can heal if you give them the time and care they need. Hope the Doctor has good news. The trail will be there.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for this video. Though sad news about the knees. I just want to share that I also came down with knee pain about a week ago. It was just a six hour 15 mile road walk and I started to get knee pain. But then I went out the next couple of days and the pain got so intense I had a hard time getting back home. Now I'm house bound. I wish you guys the best in these difficult days.
I so understand! Take care of those knees!!!
Oh Buttons, God Bless your Heart! It may have been a hard decision to make but it was the right decision to make. We all love you an Pacemaker and we only want what is best for you. I will continue to watch your channel when updates from you pop up. After all, we have to keep up on our friends. Wishing the best for full recovery!
Thank you sooooo much!
Please don’t apologize, your health is more important than the trail. It was a joy to watch you both hike. I wish you the best with your knees Buttons. I am definitely going to stay subscribed to your channel! God bless you both! 🙏🏻❤️
Awwww thank you!
I knew something was wrong when Buttons didn’t have a snack 😢. Seriously though, it’s tough when you’re forced to change plans. Best wishes on your next endeavor!
The snack comment was so true!!! lol And thank you!!
Will you be posting soon? Hope you are doing well and having fun!!!!
Great video!!! Congratulations on completing GEORGIA!! 🥾🥾😎🏕️
Great Job! It keeps raining you're gonna need waders.... Stay safe and enjoy!
You got that right!
Hello Buttons how’s the knee doing great I hope (NOMAD)
Hey Nomad! Thanks for checking up on me! My knees finally gave out to me fully at Wayah Bald Gap 😫. So we wound up having to get off and go home. It’s was a sad decision but a necessary one. I have an appt next week so we’ll see what the Dr says. For now, I don’t foresee us completing the trail in 2024😢
@@PacemakerandButtons aww so sorry here that take care I enjoyed meeting y’all I’m at standing bear hostel headed out in the morning take care yall
