This is a great help. It is so much easier to read the pronunciation the way you wrote it. Some teaching websites use the international phonetic alphabet, which makes double work to get the pronunciation. Thank you for taking the time to do these lessons. I'll be studying this every day until I learn them all.

    1) The Austroasiatic language family includes Khmer, Vietnamese, Mon, and other related languages.
    2) Chinese is placed within the Sino-Tibetan language family.
    3) Vietnamese and Chinese are not categorically in the same family group. Although they have some phonetic similarities, they are not related.
    4) Historically, as a member of the same language family as Khmer, Vietnamese's historical sound should have been very similar to that of Khmer.
    5) Because of China's historical conquest of Vietnam, the Chinese language has had a major impact on the Vietnamese language, resulting in the gradual adoption of various Sino-Tibetan sounds into modern-day Vietnamese.
