@kwooffindin Thanks. No it needs to be connected to a zigbee gateway through your home network in order to work. You can use it in your car at home but as soon as you drive out of the range of your network it will go offline and stop working. Hope that helps
Hi Is it possible connect a smart button to say a Tuya controlled LED controller without the Tuya app operating. ie smart switch to gateway gateway to smart controller?
@rodmcmahon4829 You must use the app to pair the device to the gateway,.There is no direct link connection except for the RF switches thar dont require an app to use them, for example like this one th-cam.com/video/Tthpe5YKKcE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CxIcpN73ROzU9EIX
I have a similar 2 button switch. I followed what seem to be the same steps. It created a Tap to launch control. this control works to shut off an outlet when i tap on it. But try as I may I cannot get either physical switch to switch the outlet off.
Thanks for the video and explanation. I USE THE SMART LIFE APP ON MY ANDROID PHONE I BOUGHT THE SMART BUTTON With a long press on the button the LED does blink fast does not enter pair mode Is it because I don't have a GAET-WAY?
Hi, the led will still blink fast even if it does not detect a gateway. Yes you need a gateway, without a gateway this product can not be used. If you have a gateway but it still won't pair to your gateway then try this: 1. Open Tuya App 2. Click on the + symbol at RH top of screen 3. Choose ADD DEVICE 4. Select OTHERS 5. Choose OTHERS (ZIGBEE) 6. When asked, select your Gateway that your using (you need to use a gateway for the zigbee version) 7. If pairing led is blinking fast tap NEXT, if led is not blinking fast then hold down mode switch for 8 seconds until it starts blinking fast and then tap NEXT And thats all you do. Hope that helps you
@@SHORTwithTECH hi am using Smart life app along with GATEWAY the app is detecting the gateway but gateway unable to find the button I have two buttons and both do enter pairing mode. I can’t see the app Zigbee UI like yours when you add the button to select zigbee other devices
@swapneelgolapkar I don't understand why you cannot see that sorry, the Tuya and Smart Life app UI are very similar to look at. Are you using an older android phone?
No, you can use lights that are connected to the WiFi if you want to, but if there zigbee controlled lights then yes you need to connect them to the gateway. Hope that answers your question
ok got it to work. Missed one vital step: After saving the scene name , the newly created scene is checked, then you have to click SAVE on the top, then the automation window shows up above the ADD Intelligence block
Can It be used as this? Single Tap = if Off then turn on and if On turn off - Switch Bot Double Tap = if Off then turn on and if On turn off - Fan Long press = if Off then turn on and if On turn off - Air conditioning
Hi, I have my Wi-Fi lamp on the eWeLink connected with my Google Home and my Smart Button connected to gateway and the Smart Life app and it's also available in Google Home. But I want when I click on the button it must be activate the Lamp is this possible?
Yes it is or you can use this zigbee button to dim the lamp aswell. Just program 3 functions, 1 single press at 20% brightness, double press at 60% brightness and long press at 100% brightness and your lamp will change it's brightness on each press, hope that helps you out

Yes, zigbee is a gatway protocol, so you need a gatway hub. Thats not expensive. One hub serve several lamps buttons etc.

@ZION.P2 you need a gateway to use this device. Also be sure to pair it as a Zigbee device, not bluetooth or it wont work

Do the lights have to be connected to the gateway, or can you manipulate lights that are connected to the wifi using this button?

If you have a smart lightbulb connected to the alexa app, is there any way to use this smart button to also control that lightbulb?
Yes, you can setup an automation in the Alexa app to do that for you
Nice video
Thank you, appreciate the comment 🙂

Single Tap = if Off then turn on and if On turn off - Switch Bot
Double Tap = if Off then turn on and if On turn off - Fan
Long press = if Off then turn on and if On turn off - Air conditioning
I do also have Alexa (echo dot) maybe it can help with the automation.
@scrocoprime yes but you would need to setup particular automations to do that
@scrocoprime you could try with Alexa but it may be easier with the Tuya app
