Hi guys, missed your live stream , if you guys are still in Malaysia let's catchbup for coffee. As I find your tips for Japan immensely useful for my trips to japan
I used Japan Wireless pocket WiFi for the first time based on your recommendation. The first one they sent us didn’t work (kept dropping out). They sent us a replacement within 24 hours of me letting them know. I also grabbed an eSim as a backup and had a roaming pack activated. As we were a large group we got two pockets.
thanks again for providing helpful tips a traveler will require to Japan, very helpful. :) may I ask if you have a link to Japan Wireless? I can't even see it from Klook since I want to reserve prior to our trip this Oct.

Hi, pocket wifi kiosks in the airport usually open between 6:30 - 7:30 AM. If you are arriving earlier, in most cases, you can choose to have your pocket WiFi sent directly to your hotel.
We recommend reserving a pocket WiFi before heading to Japan, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs. Here's our video specifically about Pocket WiFi: th-cam.com/video/EiqJ21l94LU/w-d-xo.html
Will be arriving by cruise ship to port Muroran as first stop. Would it be possible to have pocket wifi delivered somewhere where it could be picked up to use in 4 other stops before arriving in Yokohama. Will be there for 3 days before flying out of Narita?
HI, it is possible but you will need an address where it can be shipped. So if you know somewhere maybe even with the cruise ship that can receive a package then it probably can be done. Also contact the pocket WiFi company, they might have some ideas for you.
Hi, sorry but with Google Voice you currently will only get a U.S. number. If you want to get a Japanese number, there currently is one easy option: Mobal. This video will be helpful: th-cam.com/video/aQU42wIbDtU/w-d-xo.html
Hi, great question. Usually as you go further into the station underground the signal and connection disappears If you need your maps to work we recommend downloading your directions ahead of time so they will still work. However your GPS will still work
Thank you so much for replying. The question is: Can I use e-seam for text, and calls on Whatsup or only internet access? Also could I use Verizon international plan for calls, and use e-seam for internet. Thank you so much.
Hi, thanks for the clarification. Great questions. With eSIM 99% of them cannot send SMS texts nor make phone calls. If you want to do either you need to get a plan with Mobal. They are the only company in Japan ( that I am aware of ) that makes it easy to do so. You can find info in the description about Mobal. Otherwise, with all other eSIMs if you want to make a call or text then you need to use VoIP like you mentioned: WhatsApp, Messenger and so on. As for Verizon, yes, If their price is decent ( and no outrageous roaming fees ) then it can be a good option for you as you will be able to use your home number and make calls receive SMS texts and use the internet.
Hi, the pocket WiFis that we recommend are for Japan only. However, if you get the Mobal pocket WiFi, you own it after three months and you could take it to Singapore ( Or anywhere ) and as long as you can purchase a physical SIM card you can insert that into the pocket WiFi and it will most likely work unless there is a frequency issue. For your situation you might be interested in getting a global eSIM which we discuss later on in the LIVE.

Great content! Keep this up! I have a question. Can i pick up the pocket wifi from Narita airport and return it in Osaka airport?
HI, yes, depending on the carrier as not all will be available in both. You also return via mail.
@@KenshoQuestcould I use my us phone for calls and. E seam for data?
What do I have an I use e seam for what’s up calls
Can you hotspot from person with esim even if person doesnt have a compatible esim phone
yes, as long as the eSIM is capable of being used as an eSIM. All the ones that we recommend to support this feature.
@KenshoQuest awesome thanks. We are looking at either mobal or airalo
@@melgordon2490 perfect, they both support hotspot!
@KenshoQuest Great thanks.
Do you have any discount codes for either?
can i buy sim with number without japan id?
Hi, you can get a SIM or eSIM with a Japanese number. You will need to present your home countries ID as proof. You do not need any Japan ID.
what is your recommendation for GB/day for family of 4 mainly using for browsing and navigation, FB and IG? 3GB or we need to have the 10GB?
Hi, as long as you are not watching a lot of videos 3GB/day should be more than enough. Once you start streaming content that is when data goes fast.
For pocket wifis, does the Internet connection service still remain strong even in subway stations?
Hi, great question. Usually as you go further into the station underground the signal and connection disappears If you need your maps to work we recommend downloading your directions ahead of time so they will still work. However your GPS will still work

We are traveling to Japan and then to Singapore. Is there a pocket wifi that works in both countries? Or is pocket wifi only for Japan?

@@KenshoQuest Thanks for the information. Yes, we are getting eSims too but since we have a large group, some of us don't have eSim capabilities.
