I cut my teeth on air cooled VW's. Just love the way they always start and tickover as though nothing has happened. Great videos as always. Sorry for the recent loss. 😥😥
Love Aircooleds. Great to see it started. Its very rare to still have the cable for the air filter connected/there. Also when you restore it, make sure the fuel filter is under the car (above the gearbox) and out of the engine bay. Well known fire risk having those horrible plastic filters in the engine bay. And the repro parts now are utter crap. If you can, and the budget is decent, try and get original VW parts and recondition them. Also that looks like a repro fuel pump, they always touch the inlet/carb. Again, just not well made.
